We have taken our dogs there twice and they have so much fun. The folks there are friendly and seem to really love what they do. We took our dogs to a vet kennel once and it was terrible. At camp bark a lot the dogs get lot's of interaction and are taken outside frequently. I give it 4 paws up!

This is by far the best place to keep your dogs we have seen. we always try to take our dogs with us on our trips but when we can't we know they will be well taken care and have no problem leaving them with Camp Barkalot.

Pros: Everything

Hello and thank you to Camp Barkalot. I recently had to go on a cruise and leave my pride and joy behind. I was so nervous and scared!! My family was all going with us so we were unable to leave him with them. I was so pleased with how Camp Barkalot took care of my black lab. I called almost everyday to check on him and even had friends go by during the week. We were so happy with the care he recieved we are actually going to use them when ever we go out of town now. I would reccomend Camp Barkalot to anyone who is worried about leaving there dog with someone.

Pros: Everything

We have used Camp Barkalot many times for boarding and daycare and have always been very pleased how our dog has been treated. When we pull up to drop her off she literally pulls me through the door to get in. Our dogs happy reaction tells us this is the place for her.

Pros: Very clean and lots of dogs to play with

Cons: Can't think of any

Our dogs and cat are always well taken care of at Camp Barkalot and we tend to travel quite a bit so they are there often. The owners and staff are truly animal lovers and a big plus for us is the place is so incredibly clean all the time. Thank you Camp Barkalot for taking such good care of our precious pets.

Pros: Very clean and very friendly

Cons: None

I took both of my dogs to stay for a few days while my husband and I went out of town. We brought our dogs own food and were told that was okay and they would be fed that food. When we picked the dogs up they both smelled very strongly of urine, as if they hadn't been out in a long while. Their bedding was also heavily soiled and smelled very foul. We returned home to find that in our bag, their entire supply of food was still with us. I am fairly sure that they were fed, but we specifically asked that they be fed their own food and were told by Camp Barkalot staff they this wouldn't be a problem. I am currently searching for a new place to take my dogs this weekend because I will never go back to Camp Barkalot.

All Visitors are offered a discounted bath !!

After a long stay we offer a discounted price on a bath to all of our customers before your pet goes home. Playing with a lot of other dogs in any environment will leave your pet smelling not to your liking no matter where your pet stays.. If you refuse the bath what can you expect ? ROSE SMELL! As for feeding your pet their own food WE DO! With all the excitement, some pets when boarding do not eat as much as when they are home.

Before a long Thanksgiving trip, we took our dogs first for an evaluation visit, then for an overnight stay, to decide if this kennel would work for our dogs. Everything seemed fine, and after the overnight stay, we asked for a wash for both dogs. About five days later, I was shocked to notice that one of our dogs was injured. We took him in to an emergency vet, thinking he had simply fallen or cut himself in the house. When he was shaved to get a look at the wound, his entire back was covered with running sores, the likes of which I have NEVER seen. The vet was distressed too, and told us it looked like an allergic reaction that had become infected. The kind that might come from a strong reaction to, say, shampoo. We told him about the trip to Camp Barkalot, and he thought the timing was right. He also told us there was a good chance our dog would not survive this secondary infection. Needless to say, we called Camp Barkalot the next day to see if anything like this had happened before. We were told, “Oh yeah, we had a Great Dane a couple months ago have a reaction like that to the shampoo.” Oh. So, why wouldn’t you change shampoos? Why wouldn’t you warn people? Why wouldn’t you even offer an apology? Luckily, everything has worked out. Our dog did recover, we have found a kennel we like, and all of us are doing well. We had one other interaction with Camp Barkalot. My husband went in to pick up our dogs’ records to take to the other kennel. He again spoke with staff about what had happened. The response was pretty much: Oh, well. Needless to say, our dogs will not be going back, and I have talked to other dog owners I know recommending a switch. In a time of contentious lawsuits, I can understand that businesses are cautious. Additionally, I understand accidents happen. But why not offer a simple apology, or call to see how our dog has fared? Why not switch from such a problematic shampoo? I am not sure, but I would recommend going elsewhere.

Pros: The initial interaction seemed just fine.

Cons: Our dog had a horrible reaction to the shampoo.

Every effort is made to ensure your pet's safety. We use salon approved Shampoos & Conditioners made especially for pets. We bathe around a hundred pets a week and have had 1 harsh complaint.

The owners Dave and Chris are awsome! There is always an employee out with the dogs unlike other facilities I've used. Their facility is also VERY CLEAN. Their prices are one of the best in the valley. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!

Pros: They're the best of the best in the Salt Lake area

Cons: I can't think of any
