My Idea of Heaven
by ReviewerD
When I'm looking to celebrate something special or if I just want to treat myself, this is the place I go. The sushi is always fresh and the chef does some innovative things with sauces and flavor combos.
- Pros: This is the best sushi I've ever had.
- Cons: None.
Worth the hype
by dt_2000
While the Sushi is expensive and you have to wait to get a table (during normal business hours), Takashi is worth it. It is the best Sushi in SLC and has a good wine list to boot.
- Pros: best Sushi in town
- Cons: very high prices, wait to get seated
Great food really bad service.

I went with my mom for her birthday, everyone else at our table had their food, but the birthday girl was without. Upon asking the server about her food they said it was coming. 25 minutes later she still had no food and we where all ready to finish up and pay. The server acted like it was our problem that the sushi was taking ages.
They did not offer to pick up her meal or do anything for u.s.
Eventually we got her food to go and left.
The food was great and really fresh. The service was stale. For what we paid for the meal I expected much more. I will likely not be back.
- Pros: Very fresh fish.
- Cons: The service.
really nice

Good Sushi
by meauclaire
Great sushi, very fresh. One of the few places in Utah to offer Toro.
Sadly, the wait staff we had was very snobbish and rude.
- Pros: Toro is offered.
- Cons: Staff is/was snobbish.
Great atmosphere

Stunning atmosphere, decent sushi, excellent drink list! The service was world class and I felt like the atmosphere was worth the steep pricing.
Good atmosphere - interesting rolls
by Bigguyone1
Make reservations or get there early or late...."rush hour" is a LONG wait.
They have some interesting rolls - such as one with Strawberries that is very good as is the summit roll.
I eat out about 6x a week and about 2x/week for sushi - I would say Takashi is top 3 places in SLC area.
No happy hour or discounts - but really that is about the only downside to this place.
The atmosphere is great - especially on warm evenings when they open the shutters and you almost feel like you are setting outside.
TWO THINGS they could do to improve this place - have a larger area so wait is not as long and NEED TO OPEN ON SUNDAYS!!!!!!
Service is consistently pretty good - when they are busy...well it lacks a little but that is to be expected.
Parking can be a bit tough with current construction but it's worth a block walk to eat the food here.
- Pros: interesting rolls
- Cons: LONG wait from 6-8pm CLOSED SUNDAYS!!!!!
For high quality, fresh Sushi - this is the place in SLC
by suestew
You may not find a parking space close by, but if you are serious about eating fresh, high-quality Sushi that will guarantee to please, this is the place. I recommend the Ceviche roll as well as the Easy Rider. I've only tried about seven menu items but everything I've eaten at Takashi is fantasitc.
Enjoy and get there early on Friday and Saturday night.
- Pros: Fresh and delicious sushi
- Cons: Parking and crowds
