Those other reviewers have got to be either employees or drunk. Because Pat's is the worst BBQ I have had in a long time since the Jewish chef at my grandmothers nursing home tried to make pork ribs. The ribs were tough and I had to tear it away from the bone like a mad dog. The BBQ sauce tasted like the liquid drained from a batch of bad baked beans. And the hot one tasted like the liquid drained from a batch of bad baked beans with a dash of hot pepper sauce. I've had better ribs at Chili's for God sake. Pat's even have some "brothers" working in the kitchen...I guess there are some black men that can't cook BBQ. Save your money and head to Chili's, even though it's a chain (cringe) restaurant you will get more for your money. BUT, I will have to say it was some of the tastiest corn bread I've eaten...and I know cornbread, ya'all!
Pros: Good corn bread
Cons: Service, waiter never came back after serving food, BAD ribs, mediocore cole slaw, Ok mashed potatoes, and get RID OF THE PICNIC TABLES...TACKY

I lived in North Carolina Georgia and Florida for 13 years. I love good southern BBQ... But I have to tell you Pat's ranks right up there with the best BBQ places I've been too. the entertainment is pure Southern the food is unbelievable.... You have to try it... Promise you'll LOVE IT. Pros: Ambience, Service and Food
Cons: Nothing

Having lived in Texas, where you can find great barbecue on every block, Pat's can hang with the best of them. The fact that it's located in a run down area and still has the reputation that it does only speaks for how good the food is. It's a little hard to find, but worth the effort.
Pros: Great food, fun atmosphere, real people
Cons: Location

While I am not an expert BBQ I do love and have tried it all over the country. Pats is as good as it gets and we are so lucky to have it in Salt Lake City. Have tried other BBQ in the Valley and they just don't stand up to Pat's. The side dishes are truly special and the meats are suberb. Don't miss this one. By the way, don't let the area turn you away it is wonderful inside!
Pros: Wonderful Aroma, Fun Atmosphere. Awesome food
Cons: Location

All I can say is wow. Not only was the ambiance fun and what you would expect in a Bar B Q pit...but the food was excellent. I've never had better Ribs. The entertainment added a lot to the meal that was shared with co-workers.
Pros: ambience, great tast
Cons: parking, sevice could be a bit better

This is some great bbq. I had the plate with a half lb of brisket and half lb of pulled pork. My wife had the 3 meat combo, brisket, ribs, and chicken. All of it was wonderful, but the ribs were the best. sides of baked beans, and black-eye peas were very good too, with the baked beans getting a slight nod over the peas. Oh man, the smell in there, and the taste that lingers in your mouth while you are listening to some good music, makes it a wonderful experience. The only complaint that I had was regarding the seating. Picnic tables are not friendly to big folks, but still worth going! Pat will treat you well!
Pros: smell, taste, music
Cons: seating

Everyone seems to think A bbq joint in west valley is the bomb. they are right it is a bomb. As in a FLOP. Take the time to find Pat's. This is the best Q in town (after mine of course) Pat has gone on the BBQ trail and I am sure has won his set of awards. His Q reflects the time and care that is need to get special textures and flavours that are prize winning Q. Forget the chains and "q for who" and try Pat's
