What users are saying:
Gorgeous atmosphere, horrible servic
by lvnnstyl at Citysearch
I went to Panini for the first time a few nights ago. was extremely impressed with the atmophere and the style of the restaruant, it's so beautiful with all the marble and hardwood,. Carlos the bartender started us off on the right foot telling us about the new menu , to bad the service did not carry over to the dinning room. Our server was possibly the worst I've ever had wether it be in a 5 star restaurant or a mom and pop diner. He rushed us through our ordering by informing us if we wanted dinner then we had better order because the kitchen was closing shortly, and at the end of our dinner he actually told us it was time to leave but the restaurant had only been closed ten minutes. We were celebrating a birthday and he ruined the experience for us. .
- Pros: atmoshphere, patio seating, great bar
- Cons: terrible server, rushed dinner, small desserts
Wonderful

We went here for Valentines Day...while the menu was scaled back for the Holiday, everything we had was wonderful, and the service was out of this world. Our waiter Reed, was one of the best we have had in a long time. We cannot wait to come back and sample the full menu and private club. Go There!
- Pros: Service, Free Covered Parking
Robust Italian fare in an elegant atmosphere with a tasteful, contemporary vibe.

The Scene
On the second floor of the Wells Fargo building, Panini's spacious dining room combines European elegance with clean, contemporary lines. Cream-colored walls, polished wood wainscoting, marble floors and detailed crown molding give the space a refined feel. Service is friendly and welcoming.
The Food
The menu features generously proportioned Italian dishes with continental and regional twists. Winning starters include plump shrimp and crab cakes with spicy undertones. Smoked salmon bruschetta is perfect for sharing--generous toasts layered with boursin cheese, sliced smoked salmon and delicious tomato and herb relish. Pastas are good bets with selections like lean, flavorful Utah buffalo tortellini in a hearty ragu, or creamy fettuccini Alfredo topped with flaky broiled salmon. Crab-stuffed halibut with garlic mashed potatoes is sizable and monochromatic on the plate, but flavors are good with a zingy lemon beurre blanc and a drizzle of sweet balsamic reduction. Finish with classic crème brûlée, perfectly creamy with a crunchy, sugary crust.

Horrible!

While the service and the ambiance were quite good, the food was NOT! The Fettucine Gamberetto lacked flavor of any kind, the Prime Rib was overcook and tough. The pound cake was dry and the bread pudding served cold after we requested it to be warmed through. There was a strange "cream or mousse" served with the desserts that is reminiciant of grocery store bakery cake icing (you know the kind I mean, the kind whose texture feels like shortening in your mouth), with you guessed it, no taste. All in all, a very bad dining experience. Why are people rating it so high?
Good experience

We went to Panini on the Dine around the Town weekend. We both tried one of the specials. The food was very good, along with the service. A very nice place to go for a special evening or an upscale dinner.
- Pros: Food, Ambiance, Service
- Cons: Parking
