Good Food...GREAT service
by AndyA
I seldom write reviews but after reading the last review I decided I needed to share our experience.
My wife and I dined at Thai Siam recently. The food was very good, not great, a bit sweet for authentic thai but what made our experience so memorable was the server. I don't know her name but she used to work at the Thai restaurant near Cottonwood Mall. . My wife and I consider her one of the very best servers in the city .To start with, she is very pretty, a great smile, so welcoming and attentive. It was a 4.5 star experience with the upgraded service. I suggest those that have had service issues in the past at this restaurant give it another try. Just my 2 bahts worth. AJ
- Pros: service, portions
- Cons: food a bit sweet but very tasty
I second "RUDE AND INCOMPETENT" with emphasis on RUDE!
by Perrin
"Rude" pretty much sums up my experience as well. I'll never go back. A misunderstanding with splitting up the bill 3 ways caused the tip to to be less than they expected or wanted. They came running after us out the door looking for an explanation as to why the tip was what it was. Never seen such a thing. Our sever was as rude as could be. The male counterpart was aggressive and abrasive. T.I.P. stands for "to insure promptness".
If that is the case, they should not have had a tip at all. They were very slow in taking our order.
I like to give servers the benefit of the doubt and I support these folks but when they come running after me in such a rude manner, demanding a better tip, that is just bad business. I will not go back.
- Pros: Food was good
- Cons: Rude!
Definately best Thai in SLC and beyond

I went to Thai Siam on their opening day and fell in love with their Massaman. We've been back numerous times and returned again tonight with our friends who were nervous about Thai food. We ordered Massaman, Pad Thai, Citrus Curry, chicken and peanut sauce and the Tom Kha Gai Soup.
Everything was amazing and our friends were highly complimentary. We came home with leftovers and dug right into them again!
I've been to Thai places all over the country and world and this is a great place, always a treat.
- Pros: Wonderful flavors
Delightful with the enjoyment

great food, great service, and great advice on what to see and to do while you visiting Thailand. I would recommended this play of anyone that love Thai food like I do.
good for a quick lunch, but was much better before...
by katasurfer
This place is good for a quick lunch, pricing is very reasonable, but I must agree with others that this place is "slipping..." service not as good as before, food seams 'rushed" not like before, service staff not as attentive as before, but all in all good for lunch, with good pricing... I recommend you request 'real Thai style' from your server and the cook will adjust to a more authentic flavor...
- Pros: quick Thai lunch for a good price
- Cons: some times too bland, must request "authentic Thai style"
Rude and Incompetent
by jplilly
I went here on Christmas day with a friend because it was one of the few places open. Not only did they mess up the order badly, but they also cussed out my friend after demanding an explanation for why no tip was left. I certainly will not return and do not recommend this establishment to anyone. For good Thai food, there are certainly much better restaurants available which will not yell four and five letter explitives at their customers on the way out the door.
Used to be good

I have not been here for awhile and decided to revisit it last weekend.
I remembered it being a lot better. Pad seiw was overly dry and bland (this used to be my fav here), the chopped chicken stir fry on the lunch menu was also bland, not at all what it used to be.
The hot and sour soup was half way decent.
Thai coffee tasted like sweet milk and had no coffee aroma to it whatsoever.
Based on our recent experience, we will probably not be back to try the other dishes.
- Cons: food
Best ever

I love this place. Everything I have had is great. I get somthing difrent every time I go and I am always very happy with it. The Thai Iced Tea is so good I want one just typing about it. Service is great. They always let my little boy run around and they even play with him.... This place ROCKS!!!!!!!!!
- Pros: Everthing you could name!!
- Cons: Not closer to my home.
delicious

I have been to every thai restaurant in the valley, so it seems. Their Yellow Curry is the absolute best in Utah. So deliciou! I crave this food all the time. They are reasonably priced and the atmosphere is fun. Definitaly try the yellow curry and the soups!
- Pros: Great food, reasonably priced
- Cons: not as cozy as other restaruants
Not Authentic
by lewisss
I was really disappointed with Thai Siam. I've heard other Salt Lakers speak positively of it, so I gave it a shot the other night. Unfortunately, other than the colorful, fun atmosphere, the food was the worst I've had in Utah. My pad thai was barely warm and overly sweet, and the green curry literally made me gag (and that dish is usually my favorite at Thai restaurants). Look elsewhere for good Thai.
