We've enjoyed shopping and dining at the Gateway, but it is certainly not a "unique" experience. The only unique part of the mall is the Discovery Gateway, which is a good children's museum, and the Planetarium. But the parking is terrible. The parking garages are not set up well and if you don't get a validation it is expensive. You really should not plan on going to the museum and then a movie unless you want to shell out for parking. A validation from the museum and from the movie theater are not accepted on the same visit. Apparently spending your money on entertainment (in our case well over $100), is not good enough for the Gateway. You have to leave with apparel, too.
