spaghetti for Chinese food?

by sasari

For the last few months they have been using regular old spaghetti for their "Chow Mein" It use to be acceptable chow mein but not anymore. Now all they do is make spaghetti and add some soy sauce. Nothing else is added. It is pretty terrible to call it Chinese food.

Fairly average

If your looking for a good meal before the movie than this is a good place. If you are a foodie in search of the next great restaurant then you will be a bit disappointed. The Salt and Pepper Beef and the Shanghai Noodles are quite good as is the Ginger Beef or Chicken. Service is quick so you can get to your movie. Lingering does not seem to be encouraged as the aim is to get as many patrons through the door.

A lively, contemporary setting with standard Chinese-American fare and toned-down flavors.

by Robyn Galbos

The Scene
Popular with families and teenagers spending a night out. It's casual, modern and bustling with activity with a busy Mongolian barbecue at the center of everything.

The Food
China Lily gets points for using fresh veggies cooked crisply and for not overusing oil in the stir-fries. But, by and large, the flavors are pedestrian and some dishes are allowed to sit in the window too long before being served.

Egg rolls are tough outside, doughy inside and generally lack flavor. The pan-fried dumplings, however, have a good, hearty texture and are creatively presented under a diaphanous veil made from corn starch and buttermilk.

For entrées, the Mongolian beef is tender and flavorful in a nicely spiced brown sauce ($8.95). Curry-flavored Singapore rice noodles are billed as hot and spicy, but have little heat ($7.95). Chicken kung pao is generously topped with peanuts and the veggies are fresh and crisp ($7.95).

Great Service and Food

by GwithE

I took a group of Asian clients to China Lily, and was impressed with the food as well as the professional and friendly service we were received with. My clients even commented on the high quality of food.

Lily, the owner of the restaurant, greeted us and continuously checked to make sure everyone was satisfied. She was also pleasant to work with during the planning process.

I was very impressed with China Lily. I will definitely use them again.
