Find botanical bliss in the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains.

Overview
Picture a place akin to the Garden of Eden. Red Butte's 150 acres of natural gardens, fountains and waterfalls make it the largest botanical and ecological center in the Intermountain West. Located in the University of Utah's historic district and nestled among mountainous terrain, it's the perfect place to sightsee, walk or hike.
The Experience
Red Butte boasts a wide variety of botanical life--from the floral courtyard to the drought-tolerant and four-seasons gardens, there's always something to see. Kids will enjoy the children's garden. The visitor's center and gift shop are good stops along the way. Want something more hands-on? Enroll in one of the year-round educational programs, workshops or lectures. For the recreation bound, the garden also plays host to a variety of festivals, exhibits and concerts.

I have had the most romantic time of my life up at the gardens. I have gone the last 2 years during October and the Garden after Dark is just innocent and it's beautiful, and just so much fun. I will always make it a point to go every year.
- Pros: Beautiful, Creative, So much fun
Watch out for wild SPIDERS!

Most educational for my children. Last time we were there, we saw a wild tranchula walking along one of the paths. It was so COOL! All of the plants and animals now and then are neat to see. Also I get many ideas to design my perfect back yard.
