3 gripes: 1. I have German Shepherd who is almost 9. His hips seemed to be getting bad about a year ago so we took him to the vet and were told that he had a degenerative spine and there is nothing that could be done. Next visit, a different vet saw him and said no, it's arthritis, not a neurological condition. They gave him some Rimadyl for his hips and he is now running around like a puppy. Why did the first vet get the diagnosis completely wrong? An accurate diagnosis would have allowed him almost a year of pain free fetch. 2. The price the clinic charges for Rimadyl is substantially higher than what I can get it for online through a major, well known pet pharmacy. The savings is approximately $40/month. Long story short, the clinic refuses to fill prescriptions anywhere but onsite and invited me to go elsewhere if I didn't like the policy, and I've been a client for almost 5 years. The vet even admitted to me that it is a profit driven policy as opposed to any genuine medical reason. Imagine if your Dr. told you that you were sick, but if you wanted the medicine, you would have to buy it there, at double the price, or you didn't get it. Unbelievable. They should be ashamed. I now go the the Avenues Pet Clinic. 3. During my last visit, they made no mention whatsoever that his vaccines were due. I got home and that day there was a reminder in my mail that his vaccines were, in fact, due. I called and asked why they didn't mention that during the visit for which they had no answer. Of course, I was welcome to bring him back for the vaccines but would have to pay another office visit charge. In sum, I do not recommend. Go elsewhere and save yourself the headaches.
