Midvalley has been our vet for years, and we always get cheerful, professional service. Not only is the staff friendly, but the Drs. are knowledgeable, and kind. I have veterinary services way closer to me, but will drive miles to go to Midvalley. We show cats, and sometimes have needs different than some. We are always treated well, and get the help we need to resolve problems that arise. They also are affordable! Having show cats can be a drain on the wallet, and I feel their prices are reasonable for the services rendered. I'm never left feeling like a lot of tests, pills, etc were put on my bill without a valid reason or explanation. Spays and neuters are also affordable! Give them a try, you'll be glad you did! Probably the only con, if you want to call it that....hard to get onto Redwood Road during rush hour!

I've been to several veterinary offices in the area over the years that have been OK. Midvalley has been the best by far. The service was fast, friendly and efficient. The doctor was easy to talk to, not in a hurry to shuffle us through to get to the next patient. She spent time explaining what the other issues could be and showed a genuine interest in my dog and me.

I took my cat here because he had been throwing up after eating. As this can be a symptom of other things, I thought it would be best to have a vet look at him. After making an appointment the woman at the counter thought I was getting him neutered. She apologized and I didn't think much of it. Now this may have been an off day, but the Dr was 20 min. late arriving at the clinic, I was the first appointment of the day. After waiting, she took a look at my cat and suggested I give him food on a flat plate, so he doesn’t eat too much, which I do. Then she suggested antibiotic treatment, which he was just on after getting teeth pulled from another vet. I mentioned I read about hairballs preventing food from going down and she said yes, lets put him on hairball medicine and see if that works. It was really no help at all. It did not seem she know what the issue was or provided any useful information. The actual time with the Dr was seemed like less five minutes after waiting 20 min. I could have done this all myself without paying $45. Other people seem to like it here, but I will not be going back.
Pros: They were nice, available appointments
Cons: Not helpful with issue

The staff is very friendly and helpful, and we've been very pleased with every visit we've had. The dogs are treated fabulously, and they recently saved the life of our 15 year old kitty. Office visits are reasonable, so there's never any hesitation on taking pets in to be on the safe side.
Pros: friendly staff, good hours

When my dog, Ginger, was diagnosed with a torn ACL, or football player's knee, I panicked. How would I come up with the money? How quickly could we stop my baby's pain? The doctors, vet techs and office personnel were so supportive through this trauma (for me & Ginger) that I can't possibly thank them enough. If your pet is in need of anything, large or small, let MidValley's angels help you both. You will not be disappointed.
Pros: Truly care about you and your pets.
Cons: A little hard to find but really worth it.

It has been my experience that most people tend to write reviews when they are very frustrated with a service they have recieved and tend to voice the negative. I was very hesitant to use this facility based on reviews a read on this site. But I had a friend who needed a caring place to help her put her dog down because of illnees and spoke so highly of the care she recieved I decided to call them. My 16 year old dog and companion was very ill and was dying slowly and painfully and we needed to find somewhere he could recieve the peace he deserved. The vet we had used for several years has grown so large they have lost the "personal touches" we initally had experienced with them and therefore I had decided not to use them for one of the most difficult decisions I have had to make in regards to a pet. I contacted Midvalley Animal Clinic and they gave me several times I could choose from giving me a release I was already feeling regarding this decision. Upon arrival I sat with my dog on the grass not wanting to have to do this but also not wanting to take him into a place that would scare him. The vet was very kind and offered to come outside and check him to be sure there was nothing that could be done to help him. They came out on the lawn and talked with us and him, checked him, and verified our feelings that it was time to let him go. She gave him a sedative to keep him peaceful and then gave us sometime alone with him we sat as a family with him in the warm sun and cool grass. A flittle while later she came out to check on us and make sure we were ready to say goodbye. She then administered the medicine and calmly talked to him and us as he slipped away. We want others to know how wonderful this vet and technician at the Midvalley Animal Clinic were to us and our friend and pet. They helped us through one of our toughest times ever as we said good bye to a member of our family. Thank you Midvalley Animal Clinic for your kindess and compassion.
Pros: Compassionate, Caring, Did what was best for pet and family

3 gripes: 1. I have German Shepherd who is almost 9. His hips seemed to be getting bad about a year ago so we took him to the vet and were told that he had a degenerative spine and there is nothing that could be done. Next visit, a different vet saw him and said no, it's arthritis, not a neurological condition. They gave him some Rimadyl for his hips and he is now running around like a puppy. Why did the first vet get the diagnosis completely wrong? An accurate diagnosis would have allowed him almost a year of pain free fetch. 2. The price the clinic charges for Rimadyl is substantially higher than what I can get it for online through a major, well known pet pharmacy. The savings is approximately $40/month. Long story short, the clinic refuses to fill prescriptions anywhere but onsite and invited me to go elsewhere if I didn't like the policy, and I've been a client for almost 5 years. The vet even admitted to me that it is a profit driven policy as opposed to any genuine medical reason. Imagine if your Dr. told you that you were sick, but if you wanted the medicine, you would have to buy it there, at double the price, or you didn't get it. Unbelievable. They should be ashamed. I now go the the Avenues Pet Clinic. 3. During my last visit, they made no mention whatsoever that his vaccines were due. I got home and that day there was a reminder in my mail that his vaccines were, in fact, due. I called and asked why they didn't mention that during the visit for which they had no answer. Of course, I was welcome to bring him back for the vaccines but would have to pay another office visit charge. In sum, I do not recommend. Go elsewhere and save yourself the headaches.

While the clinic is not close to my home at all, I've taken all of my animals to Midvalley for at least 15 years. True, it is a very busy place and the staff are a very casual group, but that's one of the things I like about them. I have purebred rough collies and have been through at least four vets there as they have come and gone in their careers. All of them have been thorough and very caring about my dogs. They ask lots of questions and seem to go out of their way to look for anything else they can do for each of my dogs -- even on a routine visit. One vet even performed an emergency spay on one of my girls on Christmas Eve AFTER they were closed and two of the staff stayed to assist. It saved her life and I've never forgotten that dedication. I have shopped other animal clinics closer to my home on the eastside of town, but they are either far more expensive, don't see large breeds or don't have the time. I will say, my dogs don't like to go to Midvalley Animal Clinic ever, but I really do like them and it looks like I'll keep taking my dogs there for their health care. Good folks.
Pros: Care of animals
Cons: Too far from my home

We took are dog there and the people at the front desk are not that friendly. In fact they are rude. When we asked for help she was so busy eating her popcorn she acted like it was a pain. Maybe she should have finished her lunch on her lunch hour. Its not a place I would want to eat its not all that clean. I was really disaponted when i took my dog there and they told me she had kennel cough and gave me a Rx. After the medication was gone and the dog was not better we took her back and she never had kennel cough at all. She accually had cancer and it was growing in her chest making it hard for her to breath. So for the 10 days she was on the Rx there was no need for it and we had to force her to eat it anyway. She died 7 days later when the cancer grew to large for her breath. They need better doctors that know what to treat and how.
Pros: Pricing is good
Cons: Quality is not good
