Very Good Dentist

My child has been going to Dr. Poulsen since age 3. He is a very good dentist. For a while my insurance didn't cover it because he was out of network. I found the office to be very helpful and friendly when working with billing issues. Granted I have not had any extremely large bills, but the have been great. I also especially appreciate them fitting us in for several dental emergencies.

Is not an Orthodontist

I started my son in braces with Dr. Poulsen with the understanding that he had been trained in braces and was a certified orthodontist. His staff assured me that he was a orthodontist and has treated many orthodontic cases for years. I started my son in his braces and it wasn't until he was in treatment for about a year that I began to question Dr. Poulsen's orthodontic training. He told me he was not certified by any university and that he is not an orthodontist. Sorry to say I removed my son from treatment and found out from a real orthodontist that the treatment was not properly done. I can not believe the dishonesty i encountered in this office and would not recommend Dr. Poulsen.

Pay at the time of sevice

Dr. Poulsen was good with my daughter but paying their bill has been a nightmare. They charge 21% interest and the balance never goes down. I tried to work out something to get the bill paid off and they are unwilling to work with me at all. By the time I pay it off I will pay at least double what the original bill was.

I have talked to other people that work in medical billing and they were shocked to hear of their business practises. Because of the billing issues I could not recomend this office to anyone.
