Having worked in a fly shop and guided in the NW for several years (Kaufmann's Streamborn) and been fly fishing for over 30 years, I have a pretty good feel for good and bad fly shops. Fish Tech may not be the biggest but it one of the best I've seen. Most importantly, the service is phenomenal. Can't buy that on the internet.

I have been flyfishing for over 20 years, and Fish Tech is the place to go if you're looking for a pro shop in the Salt Lake area. Byron, the owner, is as knowledgeable an angler as you'll find anywhere, and invented such fly patterns as the "Killer" that can be found in about every still water fly fisherman's book of goodies. Great staff and products.
Pros: Staffed by excellent people

A lot of the old guys from the original Anglers Inn. A place to go if you want people who know what they are talking about.

These guys took the time to help me evaluate feathers for fly tying and get the best selection. They also jumped in and helped me with a warrenty replacement on some wadeing boots eventhough I did not purchase them at their store. The owner overheard my conversation, asked to see the boots, and minutes later handed a replacement pair to me! I'll shop here in a heartbeat any time!
Pros: No pressure to buy. Great service
Cons: None

Horrible service, I went in looking to buy a new Fly Rod I guess I was invisible that day cause the guy pretended not to see me He never assisted me until I walked over and asked him. The guy seemed very arrogant and made me feel like I didn't belong in his store. Sorry I trouble him But I would stay clear away from this store I've had better service at the bigger retail chains. Just to let you know I droped $$$ on Sage Z axis & pontoon boat.
Pros: Local Store
Cons: Horrible Service Snobby Staff
