I love the Asian Star and their Walnut Shrimp is to die for! Although the menu is a little pricey, I've found that every dish I order there is seasoned well and cooked to order. I also like that they have the option between traditional family-style dining and individual serving plates. All the staff was polite and quick to help. The wait-staff does check on you often, but I don't believe it's in a rushing manner, I believe they just want to be prompt to help. I would recommend, and I personally take all family members/friends that come to town here for a relaxing atmosphere with wonderful food.

This is the ONLY place to eat chinese, my personal favorite is the Walnut Shrimp. It is mouth watering and delicious, totally worth the price. Anything you order is going to boggle your mind. The meat you order whether its chicken or beef is going to be tender and fresh. The service is amazing, the owner is very friendly and personable.
Pros: EVERYTHING, food, service
Cons: nothing

The building is gorgous inside and out. Free valet parking is welcomed especially during a snow storm. I went to Asian Star because my friend works there as a hostess (she's really cute). I wanted to see her and the place. Anyway, everything was extravagant from the outside in. However, I gave Asian Star 3 stars due to service and food. The services from the valet guys and my friend, the hostess, was great. The waitress I received wasn't up to par. She wasn't very polite and I felt rushed to order. Thus, the service from the waitress could have been better. The food: subpar. I ordered the Sizzling Seafood Delight. The sea-food was sizzling as they prepared it on a steam plate in front of me. Unfortunately, the sizzling food didn't appease my taste-buds. I felt some of the vegetables came straight out of the cans because it wasn't fresh. Actually, nothing was fresh.
Pros: Cute hostess and good valet parking
Cons: bad waitress and food

I am a food critic. I am here to tell you that this place is Awesome. I had the walnut shrimp and if you like shrimp you will love this dish. I read some of the reviews and all I can say is that these must not understand service or great food. I have never felt more welcome. It was an amazing experiece from the minute I pulled into the restaurant. I was greeted by 2 well groomed and courtious valets. The manager on duty greeted me with a smile and treated me with the utmost respect. I had a fabulous meal and enjoyed in thurally. The valet parking attedants where extremely nice and very professional. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone I know.
Pros: Valet Parking

Yeah, I don't understand how this place used to get such good reviews. There was nothing special about it. Sampan is probably better. Maybe management changed or something? We made the mistake of coming here after going to Thaifoon and that place was just amazing but Asain Star - unlike it's hip looking outside, was nothing of the sort. It starts off with complimentary valet parking which is nice enough. Once inside, a nice fish tank or two but the inside is not quite what you would expect and more on the average to upper average scale. The menu has some of the similar things on it that a cheaper Chinese place would have but at least it is not cluttered with 10+ pages. We got some egg roll appetizers which tasted about the same as frozen. Then our main meal items were about the same as others have described. They were warm, but I was not impressed with the walnut shrimp. It was sweet, and probably some would like it - but way too sweet and thick. Getting out of the place was crowded and we had to wait awhile for valet. They had several looking tacky signs saying gratuity appreciated (for the valet) All in all, just 2 stars and the price was pretty much the same as Thaifoon.

My husband and I dined at Asian Star recently and are absolutely disgusted. With our meal, instead of the usual sweet and sour sauce, we were given ketchup and mustard! We saw it and couldn't believe it so we tasted it and sure enough, it was good ol' american ketchup and mustard. My husband thought maybe there was something we didn't know so he dipped his shrimp in it and it was disgusting! When I ordered I asked what was better between two entrees and the waitress said "neither" and told me something else to get. If the waittress doesn't even have faith in the food, why should we? Finally, the valet service was terrible. We had to wait 10 minutes for our car when we could have been long gone if they had let us park ourselves (in the empty parking lot right in front of us). We will never go there again and would never recommend it to anyone.
Pros: Nice atmosphere
Cons: Terrible food and bad valet

It has a great new location in Sandy with free valet parking, etc., and the atmosphere is pleasant, but that's where it ends. The food was not good--bland, unapetizing, etc. Some of my party even got sick after eating. I would not recommend it...
Pros: Good location
Cons: Food, no prompt seating, valet parking only is kind of inconvenient for coming or going quickly

The absolute WORST chinese food I've ever tasted. The only thing good about that place is the design of the restaurant. The use the CHEAPEST products and it's overpriced. I dine out probably 4 times a week and have eaten all over the world. This is by far the worst chinese food I've ever had and will never go back.
Pros: The building is cool looking.
Cons: The service and the food.

I read the reviews for this restaurant before going so I was expecting really good chinese food, but I was dissapointed to what I got at this restaurant, the ambience is excellent, the service was good, the food was bad, My wife asked for Chow Mein (Pan Fried Noodles) and what we got was beef with "chips", no noodles, just some chips with a worm resemblance. Maybe the cook was tired, or they run otu of noodles but those chips were not Pan fried Noodles. On the positive side the Wong Tong was good. The BBQ pork was dry and I would not recommend it. At the end, it seemed like they wanted to get out as fast as we can and on top of it the price of the food maybe justifies the ambience but not the food.
Pros: Ambience
Cons: Expensive

The Asian Star reminded me of Grand Central Station on a Monday morning, people moving purposefully through a throng to get to the reservation desk, and then waiting anxiously to be seated somewhere in the cavernous holding. The concept is nice enough - big city Seattle, quite avant-gard, large picture windows with a view of the mountains, but what you end up with is a high end fast food atmosphere, and a hustle in, hustle out mentality. The food is quite simply awful, and overpriced. I had the Walnut Shrimp, which arrived at our table minutes after ordering and was cold so that the over sweet sauce had congealed, and the walnuts lay in clumps like gritty plum pits. My husband had Cantonese Beef, which was also cold, tasteless, and definitely not sizzling spicy, as the menu promised. It is the worst chinese I have ever had, and will in the future order the General Tsao from Sampan, and be thankful that this local eatery serves up good food at low prices, which I get to eat it in the comfort and peace of my own home.
Pros: Valet Parking
Cons: Crowded, noisy, overpriced, terrible food.
