I took my sick Husky puppy to Cottonwood during 'emergency hours', this was at like 7:30 PM. Turns out she had parvo and was hospitalized there for a day and a half.... until she died. Long story short, i left with a $600 bill and a dead puppy i only had for two days. I felt they charged me way too much for how little they did. Although, the staff was friendly and sympathetic to my loss.
Pros: Nice staff, easy to find
Cons: EXPENSIVE!!!

I have been a client at Cottonwood Animal Hospital for over 10 years. I love my animals, and they treat my 3 dogs like they are their own pets! Recently, I have had to have all 3 of my dogs in for: dentals, tumor removals, and a ruptured ear drum. Each time I am in there, they are kind and courteous with me, gentle with my dogs, and the Doctor's always explain incredibly well the treatment lined up for my animals. I just want to thank you all for what you do and for being available 24 hrs/day-everysingle day!! I would highly recommend this animal hospital over any other in the valley!!
Pros: Open 24 hours/day, 365 days/year. ALL THE STAFF!
Cons: I can't really think of one.

Cottonwood Animal Hospital is wonderful. I have taken my pets there for 2 years. They have very skillful Doctors and Technicians. I have never had a bad exprience and they always provide excellent follow up care. Their 24 Hour Emergency Services is very convenient and the service that is provided is great. The front staff always seems very welcoming and helpful. Overall i think it is one of the best Animal Hospitals in the Salt Lake Valley.
Pros: 24 Hour Emergency Service, Professional, Caring
Cons: Rarely a Long Wait, yet worth it !!

I took my dog here for emergency, Saturday evening service because my other vet was closed. They were kind, and suggested a less expensive diagnostic test for my dog, which saved me $600 over the exploratory surgery that had been proposed by the other vet. When they found cancer, they were very caring. I don't undestand the person who complained about the $75.00 charge. My guess is that person went after regular hours (like I did) and there are slightly higher fees. Those fees seem justified to me, especially when someone is competent and caring.
Pros: Caring Vet, Offered several choices, very up front about prices

We have been taking our pets to Cottonwood for 5-6 years, and I'm not surprised the reviews are mixed. We had some horrible experience there, but we still go there. I have to agree Dr Cox is the best, but it's harder and harder to get his appointment. I don't think Cottonwood Animal Hospital is a bad animal hospital. I think certain individaul doctors in Cottonwood animal Hospital are a little scarily inexperience and careless at times. The price is a little higher than other vets. I've never got charged for more than one "office visit" for the same symptoms, even when I went back a week later with a different doctor.
Pros: Emergency hours, Dr Cox, Dr Law.
Cons: Expensive, some doctors seem careless and inexperienced

We brought our puppy here late one night after he had vom ited a few times in only an hour. Before going into Cottonwood, we used trusty Google to search for "puppy vom iting". One of the top results was "Parvo" - with information saying that puppies, especially those who had been around other animals, were at risk. When we brought our pup into CW, we asked about Parvo, with the vet on duty dismissing the $50 test to rule it out and instead suggesting a $150 X-ray, even though our pup had the risk factors for Parvo. Long story short, we left the vet at 2 AM with a $320 bill for the exam, an x-ray, and something for nausea. Oh, when the x-ray came back the vet just stood around like an idiot and pointed out there the stomach was... it was like he was waiting for us to explain what we were looking at! The next morning (a Sunday, otherwise we'd go to our vet), our little guy was even worse. He wouldn't eat or drink, was lethargic, and continued to vom it. We really suspected Parvo at this point, and brought the pup back to Cottonwood Animal Hospital. After being charged *another* $75 exam fee only 12 hours later, we asked the vet to do a Parvo test. This idiot suggest *another X-ray*! This place is trying to drive revenue - bottom line. We insisted on the test, and guess what? It came back positive. Our puppy would have died if we hadn't done some research and trusted the moron vet's on duty. To sum this up, our puppy has been at Cottonwood for one week now. In that time we've been told about 5 different visitation policies, we've had no guidance on what to expect, and on top of that, the hospital HAS NOT WASHED OUR PUPPY! He is covered in his own VOM IT AND DIAR RHEA and they leave him like that. One technician explained that this is because the sinks are up front, and they can't move him because he has Parvo. Well, idiot, there's this invention called a "BUCKET" that HOLDS WATER! For $300 a day you can expect not a lot from this place.
Pros: Our dog isn't dead - yet
Cons: Everything - they will charge you for everything they can

Don't go here. They charged $218 bucks for a test that actually costs close to $20. When questioned about their price gouging (and additional mix up by their staff where we had to come back in for an additional appointment when it should have all been handled in one) the female vet was blamey and rude. She said something about how we should have planned for the responsibility of taking in a foster dog. I wish our dog had bit her neck! We will be reimbursed for the vet expenses by the dog's owner, but as good consumers we had the audacity to challenge their overly high prices.
Pros: They are better with animals than humans
Cons: RIP OFF (and see pro's)

I waited 2 hours to see a Vet. The Vet came in, acted like he was rushed and spent maybe a total of 2 mins with my dog. When I asked him questions, he acted like I was taking up his time. Meanwhile, I was charged $75 after waiting 2 hours and receiving 2 mins worth of service.
Pros: open 24 hours
Cons: Long waits

Cottonwood has always been a little out of our budget but we always end up there anyway. We have tried several other vets in the area and always end up going back to Cottonwood. So now we go to them first. Everyone there is so nice and so helpful. They are even amazing with animals they don’t treat. We have several exotic animals and they are wonderful about referring us to good people. Their sister company for exotic pets is great as well. We are very happy with them and will continue to bring our loved ones to them first.
Pros: Friendly, helpful, profesional
Cons: Expensive
