best first date spot

Went to Gepetto's back when I was a kid, and remember it being lots of fun. The place looks just like I remember it. We had a blast! The waitress cracked us up and really broke the ice, making our night go really well. They were very accomodating when we couldn't decide on a pizza to share by offering to make a half and half. My side was customized with sundried tomatoes, artichoke hearts, red onions and mushrooms on a creamy garlic sauce, and my date's side was the "Monstro", an all meat combination. We were both in heaven! We will definitely be back.
- Pros: cozy atmosphere, live music, yummy food
Yummiest salad ever!

Called in a take out order today for a half chef salad and garlic bread with cheese for lunch. I have been a loyal customer for years, but this is the first time I was offered avocado and bacon on my salad...didn't even know they offered it. I was a bit sticker shocked by the price when I picked it up, but the server promised I wouldn't be disappointed. Got it home, and layed my eyes on an enormous, beautiful salad with lots of avocado and real bacon crumbles. It was fantastic! I actually called them back and thanked them for it! Worth every penny, and you just can't beat their house dressing.
- Pros: huge portions, fresh food, friendly crazy servers
- Cons: NONE
almost the worst pizza in town

Nasty, Nasty, Nasty. Food,Service and have you seen the public bathroom. A bathroom in a restaurant is a mirror of the kitchen. I ate at this establishment years ago (Back in the late 70's it was fantastic then!) Must be different owners now because it's just plain terrible. I was once there for lunch and my friend had a large rock in her stuffed zucchini. Lucky she didn't break a tooth. I will never go back or recommend to anyone. If you want bad food try a cheap fast food pizza joint.
- Pros: None
- Cons: Everything

"the best pizza in the west" if this place was in new york or los angeles it would be written up and celebrities coming in and out of it all day long.

I have been around the world to many places and I have to say that this little gem in Utah stands out with the best of places in San Francisco, Chicago, New York, and London. This place should be on the travel channel or maybe it already is, who knows. I love this place just like Moab. This the place that all should experience at least once in their life times.
- Pros: Where do you find places like this anymore.
- Cons: Corporate America Restaurant Chains
Just PERFECT!

I consider myself an EXPERT when it comes to pizza...Gepetto's is by far the best I've ever had. Not too greasy, not too heavy on any one topping, and the sauce was superb...definitely not straight from a can. We had one with canadian bacon, mushrooms, red onions and olives, and one with bacon crumbles, bbq sauce, pineapple and red onions. Couldn't pick a favorite, loved both. Can't wait to go back to try something else.
- Pros: fresh, yummy, cool atmosphere
- Cons: none
So-so food, tiny portions, worst customer service ever!

First of all, I've never had an experience at a restaurant that was so bad, it merited me writing a warning until now. I went to Gepettos late on a Saturday night with a group of friends, and with the cozy, tucked away feeling of the restaurant, I had high hopes, but I've never been so let down.
Our waitress, Jessica, has to be the rudest server I've ever seen in my life. I have no idea what she is doing in a customer service field, but she needs to get a new job. My friend who recommended the place to us was embarrassed at the way we were treated. When she came to get our order, she started by saying "everyone, shut your mouths, and open your ears". She was inhospitable, and only filled our drinks once throughout the night, and we were the only people in the entire restaurant!
The food took way too long, and during the break, Jessica went and sat next to someone, presumably her boyfriend, where she talked and texted away while we had no idea what was going on.
The food was good, but $12 for a calzone should get you a bit more than something the size of a hot pocket. I was still very hungry after the meal.
The worst part of the entire night was getting our ticket. The waitress decided that she wasn't going to get a good tip unless she put on an automatic gratuity of %18. I can live with that, as we were a group of 7. However, she refused to break up our tickets. It was an embarrassing situation as everyone rummaged for enough cash, and I finally got my credit card out to pay for everyone. However, Jessica absolutely did not deserve %18.
On our way out she said "thanks guys...for nothing". The perfect ending to a great night. I'm going to call the owner today and hopefully get Jessica fired, it was that bad. I will never set food again in this restaurant.
- Pros: So-so calzones, and the garlic cheese bread was good.
- Cons: Service, price, portions.
Awful, awful, awful!

Gepetto's has a great reputation, and I remembered it being good from 10 years ago, so I gave it a go. I have to say, it was TERRIBLE. You can get better pizza at Domino's, and to me that says a lot. The toppings were fresh enough, and the sauce was a little spicy, but the crust was this soft, flimsy, thick monstrosity. In my opinion, having a terrible crust on a pizza is like putting chocolate frosting on a dog nugget and calling it cake.
Also, the overly thick SEEDED garlic bread left much to be desired. I won't be going back. It's a pity they have enough patrons with no taste to keep them in business, because they could stand a lot of improvement.
- Pros: None.
- Cons: Terrible pizza crust, awful garlic bread, overpriced garbage.
I want to go back!

I've driven by Gepetto's a hundred times and now I'm kicking myself! What a local gem that it seems everyone was aware of but me. Suggest you try the California Garden pizza...heaven on earth!!! We added bacon to ours that added a nice smoky flavor. We also had the Brownie Sundae...Mmmmm...It has to be homemade, I've never had anything so yummy. The atmosphere was great, cozy, dark, live musician. I know where my new hangout is.
- Pros: Atmosphere, Dessert, Music
- Cons: What cons?
Perfect date destination

I usually go for the pizza when we go to Gepetto's, but I had the stuffed zucchini last night and I can't express how awesome it was! Sounds good, tastes incredible. Where else can you go out and hear live music with candlelight and romantic atmosphere with no cover charge? This is definitely my favorite place.
- Pros: Romantic, Great food, rea$onable
- Cons: none
