Camping is an art at this outdoors store. Climb the stairs to the second floor to survey the array of Springbar tents made exclusively for Kirkham's. These portable abodes are so roomy adults can stand without crouching or bending. The first floor is loaded with all the gear needed for the perfect camping experience--from the tools to cook a gourmet meal to the car racks used to tote it all to the shores of your favorite lake.

The Goods
Canvas tents, camping gear, backpacks, clothing, books, topographical maps and food stuffs cram walls, floors, racks and ceiling. A wide price range accommodates novice campers wanting to buy the basics along with the hard-core hiker-camper wanting to plunk down serious cash for serious equipment. Ski accessories, horse blankets and rock-climbing gear ensure that any outdoorsy passion is addressed.

Great place to spend a day!

I have seen other stores that have camping equipment... and most pale by comparison (Smith & Edwards is close). Kirkham's stocks a WIDE variety of supplies. You can literally walk in with nothing but desire (and money)... and leave ready to go climbing/backpacking out in the middle of nowhere.

Drawback... quality isn't cheap.

Staff is knowledgable and friendly.

Quality products, helpful staff

We bought a Springbar tent at Kirkhams several years ago and have been very satisfied with it. The construction is good and the price was right. The showroom has lots of great stuff: backpacks, outdoor gear, clothing and, of course, tents. Many of the tents are set up so you can see how roomy they are and the staff is helpful and friendly.
