After hearing some good things, I went there for breakfast with a friend. She had the swedish pancakes, and I had the french toast. First off, the service was awful. The waitress was slow and cranky. As was the woman at the front desk. And who in the year 2008 still doesn't accept debit cards? Instead, you have to use the ATM which charges an additional fee. Next, the food was pretty much mediocre. The french toast wasn't any better than what I could make at home. And I have no idea how they think those things were swedish pancakes. Basically, they were super thick, super eggy, super dark pink crepes with something that was definitely not lingonberries. They made my friend feel sick and neither of us even finished our food. Definitely, if you're going for breakfast, try someplace else. I'd rather have Village Inn than this trash any day of the week.

Pros: Nothing.

Cons: Service is awful, food is bad, prices aren't great.

The Coachman's has been one of our frequent breakfast, lunch and dinner stops for many years. WHY? Simply because it's very good food with large portions at a great price! Contrary to what some others have posted here, I've always found their service to be excellent as well. The comment(s) here about this place giving you the feel of dining with the mob are interesting, however the owner was NOT incarcerated! John and his wife are the owners, and one of their sons (who was working there) was found to have been selling contraband on the side out of the restaurant. This restaurant does, however, offer a distinct unique atmosphere along with the outstanding food and service. Incidently, one of my favorites is their marinated pork which offers a very delicious power surge of flavor! TRY IT! YOU'LL LIKE IT!!

Pros: Everything

Cons: Nothing

Looking for a new place to eat, my girlfriend and I decided to try the Coachman's. The menu looked interesting and tasty but after sitting for 10 minutes with no sign of service pending (and it wasn't that busy), we got up and left. I'll never go there again.

Another review of this place complained that it wasn't an IHOP. That person is missing the point. Stories abound that the place is run by the Mob, and the owners have gone to jail. This is more than half of the charm of this place! Food is tasty, the ambiance is a classic diner-type place, where you can just imagine mob types eating after whacking a stoolie. And the cash-only policy? It perfectly rounds out that Mob feel! These reasons are the main reasons to eat at this place! Even if it's not actually mob affiliated, the "coincidental details" make you feel like you're eating with the Don. Definately recommended!

Pros: Eat with the Capos and the Don!

Cons: People don't appreciate the idea!

Initially, I was turned away from this restraunt because they only accept cash as a form of payement. However, I decided to give them a try since they are local. Seating was immediate upon arrival, though not in the best location. Upon being seated I noticed the place was glowing with tacky lights of all assortments. Definately not a place to take a date, but it worked as an environment to take a date. I ordered a beligan waffle and my family ordered various other breakfast items. One disappointing aspect on their menu is that they offer no refills on their beverages, so we ordered all water. On getting our food, we realized that it was very, very sweet. Diabetics beware as I felt I needed to brush my teeth after eating so much sugar in the meal. Large portions have often been mentioned in other reviews, however I felt their breakfast portions were not siginificantly sized in comparision to the prices. The actual service was mediocore, like a wet noodle. It was alright, but definitely not recommened as everything was so average. I was hoping for better seating, larger portions and more to the food than what was provided. You could get the same food and the same service at a national chain breakfast diner, which is unfortunate because that is the very reason I went to Coachmans - was to avoid the generic, bland environment associated with a national chain breakfast diner.

Pros: Seating

Cons: Average, Bland, Unoriginal

Coachmans is great for people who want to eat a lot of food and dont really care about the quality. If your main goal is to get full you might like it but I would put it on par with the all you can eat buffets. Lots of mediocre food for not a bad price.

Pros: Huge serving sizes, Cheap

Cons: Huge serving sizes, Quality of food

Excellent dinner food really cheap! Complete diners including soup, vegtables, potato, salad, drink and desert for about $10! Service was also way above average.

Pros: inexpensive, service, quality

Breakfast is their specialty. Their portions are very generous - food is fresh, eye-appealing, and filling. Don't judge the place by the decor - it's old and outdated, and that may keep you from returning - but you won't walk out of here hungrey.

Pros: breakfast, service, parking

If you are looking for a great place to take the family-be sure to stop by Coachmans Restaurant. They have awesome soups that you can have with lunch or dinner. The steaks are a little thin but have great flavor and for about $10.00 for a rib eye, who can beat that?? Give it a try, you won't regret it!!

Pros: Decent parking, Inexpensive, Positive atmosphere

Cons: sometimes crowded, cold inside
