On the main bar circuit downtown, but somehow this place seems not quite in the loop.

The Scene
On first glance, you might peg the bar as looking and feeling like a bar in a Chuck Norris movie. You won't find Chuck getting in a tussle here, but you might find the bartenders here as friendly to strangers as a Doberman with ticks. If you plan to spend a few nights out here, you should probably get your own membership; the Sabre doesn't care much for regular visitors always looking for sponsors. It also seems to discourage nonmembers from tarrying too long. Bands of the Margaritaville- and Stairway-to-Heaven variety occasionally play here. Open Monday to Friday from 11am till folks leave, and Saturday 11am to 1pm.
