Same Old, New Location

by 1rudedog

Junior's has moved many moons ago now on 300 So between State & Main they still have the old bar, Greg, Barb and Tom (old time bartenders) are now joined by Derek. Fridays are crazy but cool! Can't wait for warmer weather to enjoy Suds and Sun on their patio!

  • Pros: Drink Specials / Bar Tenders
  • Cons: Small

PABST!!!!!

by cudlez

They have Pabst Blue Ribbon on tap!!! Wednesdays is $1.50 Pabst night. Great place to go after work and grab a beer. Only 1 pool table so if you want to play you might have to wait.

  • Pros: Pabst, Wednesday night Pabst
  • Cons: one pool table

A comfortable neighborhood bar featuring some of the finer things: jazz, beer and good conversation.

by Contributor

The Scene
Greg Arata, proprietor and bartender, maintains certain amenities in his venerable tavern: good beer, great music and a friendly atmosphere. An impressive vinyl collection of jazz and blues stocks the shelves behind the bar. As Coltrane plays softly in the dimly lit hickory room, a nostalgic ambience fills the smoky air. This is not a pickup joint; it's a neighborhood tavern where conversations are sparked, toasts are made and rounds of drinks are bought for newfound friends.

The Booze
A tavern is, by definition, an establishment that only serves beer. This means there are no membership requirements and no cover charge. Junior's serves Guinness, Cutthroat, Budweiser and Labatts on tap, as well as an array of bottled and canned beer.

Are you kidding me?

by slcpunk

No lines (except at the bathroom), blues, jazz, cheap beer and an interesting cast of usual suspects. This is the best hangout in SLC for value and a good beer buzz, bar none. Live blues on select nights and free pool on Tuesdays. Stop in on Saturday night and say hi to Johnny.

  • Pros: Inexpensive, Good music, Good people watching
  • Cons: Pretty smokey

Where everyone knows your name.

by Mudluck

Juniors is one of those places that is as much of cultural icon as it is a place to have a beer after work. I you listen to the myths surrounding the place you'll find that the establishment has been around in one form or another since before the 1960's (wow). The current owner Greg has run the place since mid 1980's. Located on 5th south and 2nd east this tavern is across the street from the city library and city county building. If your from out of state let me assure you that getting a tavern permit in that section of town today would be impossible! Juniors serves guinness on tap and if that alone isn't reason enough to show up consider the $4.00 dollar pitchers on Saturday from 9 pm to close! Just remember tip your bartender because each one is the best you'll ever meet.

  • Pros: People, Location, Price
  • Cons: 3.2 Utah beer laws
