Reffered by a good friend
by UtahsFinest
A close friend of ours kept telling us to try this place as it was a local favorite of theres. We kept pushing it off until one day they ended up taking us there. We loved it so much, we have been back several times over the past couple months. Service and food are great. My wife loves the Shish plate! The garlic rolls are tasty if you have them add cheese to them. Can't beat the price and portions esspecially with the economy in the condition it's in. Can't believe we have lived in Utah our whole lives and never heard of this place until now!
- Pros: The sauce is fantastic. Can't buy this stuff at the grocery store. This place will sell a jar to you there.
- Cons: Parking is a little difficult as it always is downtown. Park anywhere after 6 and it's free.
Best Italian food you can get in Salt Lake
by TheInsideScoop
Great food. Highly recommend this place. It's been a local Salt Lake favorite for years. The place is super friendly and the prices for a sit down resttaurant are fantastic. Portions are big and filling. Try this place once and you will for sure be back again.
- Pros: 2 thumbs up on the speed of service. Food has great flavor
I love this place
by thebuzz84
I've been here two times and it's been great. Service is very friendly, great food, good price and the atmosphere is fun with a live piano player. I had been looking for a unique Italian restaurant since moving here and now I've found it. Spaghetti, sausage sandwiches and tiramisu, it was all delicious. I plan to keep going back and bring my friends here.
- Pros: Food, Cost, Service, Entertainment
I don't get it
by fugu2you
The place is corny inside. Salad is pretty good, but not fabulous, a bit under dressed. Sandwiches are decent, but not great, and everything's pricey for what it is.
Service is fantastic from nice older ladies, but it has to be since the iced tea glass holds about 2 shots....
I guess it's a Salt Lake landmark, and that's cool, but the food needs a little work - I ordered a sausage sandwich and it had breakfast sausage like patties on it - at lunch time. I was expecting italian sausage not Jimmy Dean.
- Pros: It's not McDonald's
- Cons: Food needs a little work
The WORST spaghetti I ever tasted!
by rjohnson1975
If I made some generic boxed spaghetti and poured ketchup over it, it would probably have tasted better than this. Also, margarine on the garlic bread? I thought that was illegal--especially for these prices!
- Pros: NONE
- Cons: Awful food, bad parking
Very good food and authentic

The place has great food and is reasonably priced. It's somewhat noisy but is a classic place to dine. There is also a live piano player. Service was great and waitress was friendly.
- Pros: great food and prices
- Cons: busy
At the very top of my list!
by billatkublakhan
For the past 30 something years this has been a favorite of mine. Specifically, their corned beef sandwich and house salad combo are fantastic and addictive, and their spumoni ice cream with rum sauce is, without a doubt, the very best dessert around!! We're going there for dinner this evening and I JUST CAN'T WAIT!! YUMMMMMMMMMMM!!
- Pros: Food quality, food quantity, food value and the atmosphere
- Cons: None that come to mind
An Italian diner with winsome waiters and a touch of wackiness.

The Scene
Cinegrill is a bustling, pink neon-rimmed room with red banquettes and a convivial atmosphere, located in the bottom of a downtown apartment building. A hearty greeting at the door, red-and-white checkerboard tablecloths and paper menus seem to suit the clientele just fine. So does the singer at the electric piano, who makes old standards sparkle. Never mind the heaping portions, best of all is the service; they treat you like family.
The Food
You'll find diner classics: hot corned beef, grilled hamburger steak and shish kebab on rice. You can get a side of spaghetti, lasagna or minestrone with any choice. Or get the spaghetti by itself. Or the lasagna. You get the idea: It's mix and match. Just don't fill up on the enormous iceberg lettuce salad (with sliced pepperoni and homemade blue cheese dressing) or eat too many garlic rolls before the main deal arrives. You won't have room for the excellent tiramisu.
Best in the City
by sfted
This is my favorite place to eat and relax. The food and people are the best in the city. Cinegrill should top all of the lists. I have been eating there frojm the time that it was on film row. Through all of the owners and have all done their best to make the Cinegrill the best. You are the greatest. Thanks!!!
- Pros: food, people, price
- Cons: there are none
Desearves More Votes!

Why isn't this at the top of the Italian list? Bets the heck out of Buco de Crappo, maybe they don't have all the employees posting votes for total crappola. This place has been around forever serving very good food, I remember the old location and Pizza take out in a movie reel can!
