Unsatisfactory Staff Attitude by Conerned P. at InsiderPages
Contributor at Insider Pages
Although the physician that I go to is very friendly and helpful, there is always one or two particular staff on her team who exhibits the unprofessional attitude towards patients. I have been with this general practitioner for at least 6 years, and at first her secretary was always rude to patients who called in to schedule appointments. Now that she changed to a new secretary, this person sounds very moody that on a good day she would chat with patient on unrelated topics, and on a bad day she would scold patients if their definition of the term weekend is different from hers. Further, the physician has 2 nurses, the first nurse is very helpful but the second nurse acts like the patient is obligated to do her job for her. For example, I called in for a prescription this morning and was put on hold for more than 15 minutes before I was able to give this second nurse the name of my pharmacy. But the nurse demanded name, address, and phone number of the pharmacy. Since I called from my office, I told her that I didn't have the information then, and she sounded very rude when lecturing me for not following their policy when calling for prescription. First, I didn't know (nor do they state in their brochure) that they have such policy. Second, the other nurse always helped me to call in the prescription by only asking me the name of my pharmacy, which has not been changed for the past few years. As it is her job to call in prescriptions for patients, I would have imagined it is also part of her job to find the correct pharmacy information, given the name of it. Asking patients to do her job for her, and with such rude and unprofessional attitude is absolutely unacceptable. If this clinic really cares about their patients, they should make sure that their staff treats patients as such, not as if the patients owed them money.

will not take my son there again, parent md perspective
by B Chin at Citysearch
I direct you to my google review of Foothill South Clinic which is very detailed. Basically, I am a MD who twice took my 2 yr old son here for a severe limp in the setting of an URI (1st time) and gastroenteritis (2nd time). The 1st time the doctor misdiagnosed it as "occult fracture," only for him to get worse, go to Primary Children's THE NEXT DAY where a pediatrician quickly (correctly) diagnosed it as toxic synovitis (diapproving of the clinics assessment). Foothill never sent the results of his xray (though I read it myself) and called a month later to "check up on him." PCMC called the next day.
The 2nd visit was last night where gi infection for a week and sudden onset of limp (again). Dr said, "toxic synovitis" but recommended to go to PCMC if I was presistently concerned (I think MD's treat MD's kids worse b/c worried of being wrong, etc). Scheduled for ultrasound of hip next day. Called peds orthro and explained symptoms, etc. and was told that I should have gotten basic labs if concern was high enough to order ultrasound as well as basic rheumatology labs because recurrent toxic synovitis is a sign of possible juvenile arthritis (not good to miss). i called back the clinic, told them what the specialists wanted, only for the secretaries to hang up on me once, transfer me to an inactive voice mail twice, and then not pick up the phone. i had to drive there to get the basic labs ordered that nigh, and the next morning my wife returned with son for the basic labs and requested the rheum labs (per ortho request). the pediatrician wouldn't order the rheum panel. per my wife, it was clear he was letting his ego put my son's health at risk without admitting that he was possibly incorrect to not at least talk about these diagnoses/workup. i was shocked hearing this because i looked it up and the literature clearly supports this concern with recurrent toxic synovitis and the peds either did not know this (which he should per ortho) or was too inconsiderate of my sons wellbeing to admit maybe the specialist was right.
as a father/MD, i am saddened that this clinic failed repeatedly to care for my son in an appropriate fashion. parents, i advise you to look elsewhere, as further evidenced by the fact that my son had loss of bowel control and did not even get an abdominal exam last night (a common sense thing, with the doctor only focusing on the hip).
- Pros: urgent care open after hrs
- Cons: misdiagnosed/cared for my son twice
best care in Utah

We have been patients at Foothill Clinic for 28 years. Dr. Dan Henry is the best! There was one rude doctor there years ago, but he has been gone for about 20 years, and we have not have any trouble with any of them since. The standard of care we receive is always top notch - we recommend this clinic to everyone!
- Pros: doctor and nurses know and remember us
- Cons: long wait time occasionally
Dr. Dorothy is a horrible Doctor! Do not go to her!
by Natalia8464 at Citysearch
Horrible. Went to Dr. Dorothy more than once, trying to make it work and not wanting to be too picky. She hurt me, made me cry, and then insulted me for getting upset. She couldn't answer any of my questions, always gave a vague response and she refused to include my husband, despite our request BEFORE the visit. Her staff are rude and cold, like her. WORST DOCTOR IN UT.
- Pros: Nothing
- Cons: Everything
Disappointment after disappointment
by Taiza at Citysearch
I have gone to Foothill Family Clinic off and on for fourteen years. The doctors and P.A.s are always great during the appointments. But beware of anything to do with phones. Expect long hold times and being placed on hold a myriad of times any time you call. I have had nothing but trouble: call backs, lab test results, calling in prescritpions, on occasion even setting up an appointment can be like pulling teeth. I pay the dentist for that, not the doctor. If you want a doctors' office that has a primary concern for the welling of patiencts, look elsewhere. I have.
- Pros: I like the doctors.
- Cons: The office staff is terrible
Jerry Kelty from Foothill Family Clinic is great!!!
by fraterlegio at Citysearch
I have been going to Foothill Family Clinic for about 5 years. The staff has always been polite and effecient, but in particular, PA Jerry Kelty has been the best medical professional I have ever seen and due to my medical condition, I have seen a lot. He has a wonderful bedside manner, always takes the time to listen to me, and will always answer any question I have to the best of his ability.
I cannot recommend him enough!!!
- Pros: Jerry Kelty is always there to listen, help, and answer any questions
Do NOT go to Dr. Dorothy Williams!
by Jess132541 at Citysearch
I have to say that Dr. Dorothy Williams has the worst bedside manner I have ever experienced. At first visit I had some questions and she just smiled wide and said ok ok and she didn't answer them and seemed to be insulted and made me feel stupid when I went to ask for more. She did not do an internal examination either. After that because she was close I was going to go back. She would not call me but made her girls keep doing so. The 2nd and last time visiting her she walked in the room with wide smile but had NO knowledge to give me medical details on a question and then outright said (when I said I was nervous) in a indirect but sarcastic way that if I remained nervous it didn't help her. I do not at all feel good with this doctor. It is outrageous. Do NOT go to Dr. Williams!
Dr. Dorothy Williams is very rude!

Dr. Dorothy Williams is very rude! It really upsets me that doctors like that are still doctors. She really has no morals for anyone. I wouldn't bring my dog there.(sorry but its the truth).
- Pros: Nothing
- Cons: Dr. Dorothy Williams is very rude!
Dr. Dorothy Williams is a Horrile Doctor!
by dfgdsgdg at Citysearch
Dr. Dorothy Williams is the most HORRIBLE doctor I have ever had the displeasure to meet in my entire life. I had a serious health concern (which she brought up), I could not depend on her giving me any helpful answers. Not only is she very condescending, rude and arrogant, what's unforgivable is that she dismissed my questions and downplayed my very valid concerns. It was only when I started to insist and question her conflicting answers that I got her attention. Even then, I had to do my own research and ask for a second opinion. Never will I recommend her to anyone. Horrible, horrible, horrible!
- Pros: Nothing
- Cons: Dr. Dorothy Williams will treat you badly!
Worst experience in 15 years!
by jessharris78 at Citysearch
I have been a patient of the clinic for years! For at least 15. Yesterday was the first day in those years that I was treated poorly by one of their doctors. His name is Alex Clark. He seemed nice at first, but then made comments about how often I go to the clinic, which I don't feel good a lot, so my visits are frequent. He seemed very stern after a while and also made me feel like I was stupid. I also felt like a bad step parent after I left from a comment he made to me. I had gone in for IB profen for my back pain that I've had for several months. I have also been seen there for my back pain by a PA. He told me that I wouldn't need anything stronger than IBs, even though I told him that was what I wanted. It really seemed like this doctor thought I was a "prescription" seeking patient. He had horrible bed-side manner which they obviously don't teach in Med school, and as a result, I am afraid to go back to this clinic now because of his assumptive attitude toward me. The other doctors I've seen there throughout the years have been awesome and would recommend any of those doctors, but not this Alex Clark guy.
Don't trust the stars

The 'star' rating system here is FLAWED.
Please observe that of the 5 reviews, 3 are at the minimum allowed - while 2 are the max or close - 'averaging' the number of stars is not an 'accurate' way to calculate the assessment.
- Pros: None currently.
- Cons: Billing ABUSE !!!!!
