Good New York Style Pizza
by teddyman
For pizza this restaurant ranks high on our list. It is definitely authentic New York thin crust pizza and very good. You won't get a processed pizza here but instead a good hand tossed pizza made the old fashioned way in a seasoned oven.
The atmosphere isn't anything to write home about, but it's clean and so is the restroom. The service is average but the people are usually very nice. You can't go wrong here.
- Pros: Excellent pizza, clean and friendly.
- Cons: Average atmosphere and service.
Chicago deep dish
by jodeluja
Have had the pepperoni pizza in the past and it was good. Nice crust, good cheese, perfect amount of sauce. Recently however I must have gotten the chefs on a bad night. The Chicago deep dish was grossly overflowing with ricotta cheese and we probably had a total of 6 pieces of pepperoni on the entire pie. The White pizza would have probably been better with some sauce.
Definately stick to the basic pizza's here.
Great Pizza, Calzones, and Bread
by rinlok
I have been to this place about 4 times, never a dissapointment.
If you love pizza and you are looking for somewhere new, give this place a try.
Make sure to try the cheesebread and the garlic knots.
Wish I had known about this place sooner!

I have been living in Salt Lake for two years and never knew about this place!
I sure wish I had as the pizza is incredible. I tried the cheese pizza and thought
I had died and gone to heaven. The taste is fantastic and reminds me of being back
home in New York. After finding this place I will no longer frequent local pizza chains.
My only complaint is that it's out of the way. I sure wish they had a location in downtown! I'm so happy I can get pizza like this while going to school here! Thanks Big Apple :)
- Pros: fabulous pizza, lots of choices, great service, price
- Cons: far from downtown
The best NY Pizza in Utah!!!
by bez7
This is not only the best NY style pizza but also by far the best pizza in Utah. The Ft. Union location is great since we were driving from Utah Valley to 33rd for pizza for over a year! Buy this, Eat this, ENJOY LIFE! Pizza time is too precious to waste it eating any other pizza than this...
- Pros: Great Pizza
- Cons: Distance from UtahCty
YOU from the east? BIG APPLE pizza solution.
by eeianb
Big Apple is hands down the best place to get pizza in SLC. If you are like me and miss the east coast every now and then, you can drop on in and say hi to Jon, Shai and now Eli in the new store over on Ft. Union 7206 s 900 e (thank god- as we were commuting over to 33rd to get pizza from Sandy!) With all the NYC memoribelia on the wall, and the friendly service, you can't go wrong. It has the real thin crusted NY taste with just the right amount of cheese and sauce. So if you get a hankering for a pie from the east-check it out.
- Pros: good food, inexpensive, good service
- Cons: n/a, n/a, n/a
Big Apple Pizza is right
by chadctanner
This is the only pizza I've had that is real New York style. I've been to dozens, but this is the first outside NY to duplicate those amazing pies!
great calzone
by thelma5970
We tried the calzone (rated number one by the 2004 city search survey). It was very tasty - lots of cheese and meat filling and a crispy crust - lots to eat too - shared by two, its a whole meal. Ordinary strip mall place - will try the pizza next time.
- Pros: calzone, prices, local
Nothing fancy to look at, but the pizza is mighty fine.

The Scene
It's your typical strip-mall pizzeria. Don't be shy about bringing kids--there's plenty of room for them to run around while you wait for your pie.
The Food
The pizzas are New York-style, with a thin crust that can get soggy if you order a lot of toppings. Some of the more popular specialities include white pizza (with plenty of garlic) and pesto pizza. Go for a calzone if you're not in the pizza mode. If you're in the market for something different, try a pizza bender--kind of a sub sandwich made by folding a pizza crust around your meat and cheese choices. Several pasta choices are also available, including that East Coast favorite baked ziti.
yummy pizza
by korilynn
I had read reviews and decided to check this place out. The pizza was great and so were the chicken wings we had for appetizer. Prices are reasonable and the service was good. This is a casual, beer and pizza joint that has great food.
- Pros: pizza, chicken wings, price
- Cons: dining area is small, parking
