mike sold us an engagement ring that was apparently the price of around $15K. I have had jewelers tell me that they would not even think of buying the diamond out of it because it was such poor quality. This place IS HORRIBLE and if you are smart you will go somewhere else. It's not custom either, believe me, you should just go somewhere else. This place is a total joke and Mike makes so much money just ripping people off!!!

Pros: NOT A THING

Cons: EVERYTHING

The sales lady seemed very nice and helpful and didn't mind taking the time to talk about it while I looked through a book to find a ring for a garnet. I wanted a yellow gold ring and she told me the prices in the book were based on a $600 an oz price not the current $900+ and that the actual price of the ring would be more. She said however that the price of white gold would still be the price in the book and thought that the white looked better and brought out the color of a garnet better. So for budget reasons based on what she told me, I opted for the white gold against my better judgement. When I placed the order she told me she would order 10 garnets and pick the brightest one. I get a call the ring is in so I go to get it. The saleslady gets the ring saying she hadn't even known it had come in yet. She takes it out of the sealed package that came from the distributor and the gem is already set in the ring. What happened to the 10 gems and picking the best one? Our 10th anniv comes and my wife is disappointed it is not yellow gold. To exchange guess I'll have to see how much more it costs for yellow gold. I call and speak to a different salesperson. They said that they didn't think there would be a price difference between yellow and white gold My wife having worked in a jewelry store said that there is no price difference between yellow and white gold! I go back to the store and to exchange it. She writes up a receipt and doesn't say anything about a price difference and I didn't bring it up. She then says there is a $15 return fee but when I go to give her the money she waves me off saying nevermind. A week later the ring is in and I go and get it. The sales lady tells me that they don't normally do this kind of exchange and that she was waiving the $30 return fee for me, and that she thinks she can sell it because it's a nice ring. Do you see why I am unhappy with this place? I am not going there again. My story is longer but no space left.

Pros: Near the mall but that's about it.

Cons: Poor customer service.

This has to be the most overpriced, worse customer service business in Utah. Mike and his entire staff are rude and pushy. I honestly don't know how this guy stays in business and that nobody has sued him yet to put him out of business forever. He sized a ring for me, did not have it ready when he said he would and charged me triple the price of two other places I checked. And after he told me that for that kind of ring the resizing would not cause a problem for the stones, two of the stones came loose and fell off. I have never been so irritated in my life. Worse, worse, ever.

Pros: Location. Close to shopping, dining area

Cons: Everything else.

How many times can one man try and push low quality "diamonds" on one's personal budget? The answer, More than you can imagine and definitely to much for comfort. Over priced merchandise, one man to just trying to get as rich as possible before it's over. I honestly think I could go to mexico and get the same quality of jewelry that Mike pushes on you. A dent in my mood and a potential dent in my wallet. (Did not buy) I recommend steering clear of this so called business man. Unless you liked getting ripped off..

Pros: clean store, you need that to lure people in.

Cons: everything..

I was able to work with Mike personally, and may I say he's very personable. My fiance found an engagement ring at the typically poor quality mall jewelry stores and I was unable to get them to upgrade the diamonds to make it worth my while. So I took it to Mike, who made me the most beautiful engagement ring I've ever seen (not that I'm partial or anything). He has very fair prices and very high quality jewelry. I would recommend him to anyone!

Pros: Great quality, awesome workmanship, honest businessman

Cons: Mike missed his own deadline as to when my ring would be done...

I was extremely impressed. We walked in thinking that it would be a long a diffucult process. It wasn't difficult at all though. We had all of our questions answered thoroughly--including questions we didn't realize that we had. They gave us enough info to save us SEVERAL hundred dollars. We spent less on BOTH rings than I had planned on spending for ONE. I'll send all of my friends their way.

Pros: Non-pressure, Informative, Friendly

My experience with Mike's Custom Jewlery was wonderful. It was so different then anywhere I had been previously. It wasn't like those other jewelry stores that you feel you are being ripped off. I went in with the desire to buy my Wedding ring. We had the intentions of spending 5,000 to 6,000 dollars. I had a very good idea of what i wanted, and they met my needs with ease. The customer service was wonderful! They were so helpful and were willing to help me in any way they could. We didn't even have to spend as much as we had intended. The best thing about that was we still were able to get the highest quailty jewelry, and they even competed with the prices I was given by other stores. Thank you Mike's Custom Jewlery You gave me the Wedding Ring of my DREAMS!

The only thing custom about this "cheap" jewelry store is the title. Mike has nothing but junk. I went in here wanting to spend at least $3,000 dollars on a nice ring and the woman in the store kept offering me cheaply made crap. The stuff mike has is not made with expensive solid materials but rather cost cutting ingredients to make him rich. The jewelry that Mike sells in his store you can buy in Tijuana Mexico for a fraction of the price. TERRIBLE! TERRIBLE! TERRIBLE!

Pros: clean floor, good roof, door opens easy

Cons: Sky high prices, Junk
