Morelia's is hands down the BEST Mexican food in town. There salsa is delicious!!! Prices are great! If you want fresh authentic Mexican food go to Morelia's. The owner David is in the kitchen cooking every night ensuring that the best food is served! Sometime there is a slight wait but completely worth it!!!

Taco Bell was across the street and throughout the meal I couldn't help but think how lucky all the people were that were walking into Taco Bell. Restaurant is in what looks like an old IHOP. Food tastes like it was out of a can! Who uses beets for garnish?!!!

Pros: Good service

Cons: Terrible Food!! Beets and Mexican food????

I have been going to Restaurant Morelia for years. It continues to be my favorite for homestyle (like my mom's cooking) Mexican food. I love that it is always served up hot. The servers are always polite. They don't change servers very often so they must be great to work for. I don't care what color or age they are, it's the service that counts. The cooks are always the same, so the food is always consistent. My favorites are chile rellenos, chile verde burritos, rice and beans. My kids love it too. They are actually one of the few restaurants that don't load cheese on top of their food. Of course, there are a few dishes that have the obligatory cheese. Oh, and save room for some flan! It is so good.

Pros: Good food, prices, service

Cons: Sometimes parking is bad.

I was surprised at all of the positive reviews. The prices are great although the cheap lunch menu is very small. There was so much cheese melted on the plate it could choke a horse. The biggest complaint I have is the cold, hard chips that appear to have been a deal at Sam's club. There is nothing authentic about chips that are not homemade and not warm. Although we had a native, attentive waitress there were middle-aged white women waitressing. Where is there a Mexican restaurant in SLC that has Mexican servers? Overall, the food is good to average, just not nearly as good as I have had elsewhere.

Pros: Good salsa, reasonable prices

Cons: Cold, hard chips, Not authentic

This place is the absolute best Mexican restaurant in town. The chili verde is too die for!! The service is always fast and friendly. The prices are very, very reasonable. Everything on the menu is excellent - I've just about tried it all. The fresh salsa is wonderful! I just can't say enough great things about this place. I recommend this palce to everyone!!!

Pros: wonderful food, service, best chili verde

Cons: parking, long wait on weekends, small restaurant

The open kitchen where patrons are welcome to say "Hi" and "Thanks" to the cooks is great. The food is very mexican (although cheddar cheese is used for nearly all of the dishes) and tastes great. The prices are inexpensive and the staff is friendly. The parking lot is small and there isn't much available on the street, but just north on State Street is a large parking lot (don't park at the floral shop!). The seating is comfortable although it is loud when the restaurant is full (almost always). We always go early (before 4:30pm) to avoid the crowds.

Pros: Taste, Friendly service, Good prices

Cons: limited parking, loud when crowded, always crowded 4 dnnr

Aside from mi abuelas, this is where my family gathers together for some authentic mexican food. Their salsa is made fresh numerous times a day, not just once in the morning and meant to last all night. Everything is freshly made! They have a great menu with AMAZING prices. My husband loves the Larry Miller Combo wich is a huge dinner, I love the chicken flautas and my 6 yr old; who is generaly a picky eater and whom I can't get to eat enough; loves the cheese enchaladas which she eats every LAST BITE! Left overs are even better the next day. Even if you can't eat any more, you must try the churros. Their not your typical churros you see at Albertos, these are the real deatl!!! This whole place is amazing!! They take the cake!!!

Pros: Price, Authentic Food, Family Owned

Cons: limited parking

This is a very casual place. Family owned and run. The fish tacos are yummy. The group I was with had mixed reviews. Some loved the fajitas and others thought they wer just "eh". Pork verde had a big thumgs up from the group. Prices are very inexpensive. The salsa is fresh and worth the trip. Parking, on the other hand, is hard to find and might deter you, as will the wait for a table. It is a popular place after all.

Pros: food, service

Cons: parking

The Morelia is a great Mexican restaurant. About the only bad thing I can say about it is the parking situation. It's lousy. They share a parking lot with a fabric store and there is rarely enough parking. Often I have to park down the street about a half a block in a communal parking lot. The parking lot is difficult to get into and out of. So, if you don't mind walking a couple hundred meters, there is a huge parking lot just west of the restaurant.

Pros: Food, Service, Inexpensive

Cons: Parking, Parking, Parking

This restuarant has the best tacos in town. Plus, the fish taco sacue is excellent - a combination of lime juice, crushed red peppers, and tomatoes. It goes good on any of the menu items - not just the fish tacos.

Pros: Excellent Food, Beer and Margaritas, Inexpensive

Cons: May have to wait
