Few Key things to try
by annalotte
I got showed this restaurant several years ago and love it but you have to know what to order. The green bean ball soup and potstickers are must haves for first timers. They have a super cheap and great lunch special. My family hates some of the fake meats they have so you just have to try things. My favs are sweet and sour chicken/pork (same dish), spicy green beans, chicken and broccoli, potstickers, hot and sour soup, green bean ball soup. Looks like a total dive but has great vegi dishes. potstickers take 15min so just be prepared :)
- Pros: lots of vegitarian, local, few amazing dishes
- Cons: don't like the seafood, can't specialty order b/c the gal speaks bad english.
Yum-tofickin!

I can see how this would be a bit of a abnormality to most diners, but this is a darn fine place. Now if your use to all your food being one strong homogenized flavor you probably wont go for this place. The more sensitive consumer will find the dishes complex and unique. The soy they use for chicken is at first a bit off putting. It tastes all right, and I really like the fact that you have to ask for white rice allowing you to enjoy the wonderful brown rice unctuousness. The spring rolls are nice and freshly made, veggies have a wonderful snap to them. The mismatched water glasses that they've been using since I was 12 are still around, which I like, and its always very quiet, which is why I think its funded by magic. This place get a big boost for being a vegetarian joint, and I'd like it to make it clear I am not Vegetarian, in fact on many occasions I've eaten Bambi, so understand how good this place has to be for me to tell you its really good. its different and unique and worth trying because chances are you've never tried anything like.
- Pros: Friday, lunch, Spicey Galic Chicken, Hot and Sour soup, eat, be full, be happy
- Cons: Theirs an odd bump in front of the doorway that took me by suprice when I was 12 that I still have issues with.
unique and delicious

i love asain food and this place is amazing. when the asparagus is in season try it with beef or chicken. or if its not try the green beans. i have liked everything on the menu. if you like spicey food just ask them and it adds wonders to the dish. atmosphere is decent, not very romantic. but the wonderful service and food is enough to get me to go there whenever im in the area.
- Pros: food, service, portions
Yummy vegetarian/vegan food
by dark9angel99
This is my favorite restaurant in the valley. I enjoy everything from the Lemon "Chicken" to the "Beef" Chow Mein. The staff is friendly and bring authenticity to their restaurant. I'm vegetarian and my family is not, but this is a place we all love.
- Pros: Delicious, No Crowds, Peaceful
My favorite restaurant on Earth

The first time I went to this restaurant was when I was a new vegetarian. I was also "freaked out" by how much the vegetarian chicken tasted like chicken. I have a standing date with this restaurant. Vegetarian chicken with broccoli gets my vote. The people are great as well, they alway remember what I like and I can't say enough!
Trying but not happening

This place is poor. They seem to be trying but the flavors are all wrong and everything is just strange. They seem to be really trying and I know they've been around awhile. I went there years ago and felt the same thing. It just isn't any good.
- Pros: service good, seem to be trying
- Cons: , poor quality, not fresh
Vegetarian Chinese fare in a humble location at the south end of the valley.

The Scene
Long Life Vegi House is situated in a humble location, but it's actually quite busy, because it's the only place of its type in the area, and vegetarians flock to it. It has sister restaurants in California that are very popular as well.
The Food
Vegetarian Chinese food with flavors meant to emulate meat dishes. You can get Chinese favorites with tofu and other meat substitutes, flavored like beef, chicken, or pork, but no mammals have given their lives for the menu. Seafood dishes are offered, however.

Good vegetarian food. The "chicken" freaked me out the first time I tried it....cuz, suprisingly enough, it tasted like chicken. The Kung Poa is great....the Lemon chicken and don't miss the Green Beans. Yummy. Did someone say lunch? This is the only vegetarian joint that I visit on a regular basis. At one point, I think I was eating there 3 times a week.
Quiet Dining, Great Food

Splendid variety of vegetarian dishes. Wong Tong Soup is delicious and the tofu plates are extraordinary!
