Service and food terrible!!!

Only one person greeting us little bit and that was young lady on register.Another one told us it s 5mins to closing and that was suppoed to mean.If you are lucky to get food that you just ordered sec a go and eat it asap,get your ass out.That kind of Customer Service I never experienced anywhere and food-meat was BURNED and dry.Greek souvlaki was dry and fries terrible including service.Too small and I wonder what are this comment talking about or were they paid to write it in good words.That is NOT greek food at all and really NEVER AGAIN!!!

Addicted to THIS Greek

I have been going to Yanni's since I moved here several years ago and it's the best greek in town. They never skimp! Their gyros are full to the brim and the meat is perfectly seasoned and not as greasy as what places like Crown serve. If you ask for a side of feta you get a ton and it's the smoothest, tastiest feta you'll ever have. It's really yummy on their greek salads! Their dolmadas are huge and they taste the best (I don't like the skinny tomatoey ones you get some places). The burgers are really good too if you have someone with you who doesn't feel like anything too authentic.

Great Food

For anyone who is craving some quality Greek food in SLC area Yanni's Greek Express is the place to go. Conveniently placed for commuters where highland and 1300 meet, perfect for a quick bite, however a few items take some time to prepare like my favorite, the chicken greek salad. Great place to sit down, great service and a great atmosphere. One complaint i have is the poor quality of sound from the drive thru window, i much rather prefer to dine in. Like i said the service is great often you even see Yanni himself taking orders or visiting with friends.

An all around great place.

Warning: terrible service and sub par food

I've really never been happy eating there in the 10 or so times I've been in the past 6 months. But, I go back because of its convenience and I hoped that each time it would get better.

Recently they got my order wrong, and were unwilling to fix it. They said no, this is what you ordered, and didn't have anything else to say. So, that made me decide that eating there at all was definitely a mistake.

People do make mistakes while ordering, both on the customer's side as well as the employee's side. But when no solutions are even introduced, it puts the error always on the customer no matter who is at fault.

Fortunately I am in a position that I can let a lot of people know to stay away from Yanni's, and to visit Crown or Apollo Burger instead.

Mouth Watering

Yanni's is the best greek food I've ever had! Hands down it is the only place my entire family and extended family can agree on. It just came up in casual conversation and now I just have to get it for dinner. All of our favorite thing is the Yanni's special. It's big enouph for 3 to 4 meals. It has you choice of lemon Chicken or pork, lemon rice or fries, and a Greek salad with pita bread. I always order extra pita bread it is fresh and amazing. I get the meals to go and on the way home the smell is killing me, as I'm dying to eat it. I usually snack on some of the fresh pita bread tio tide me over. I recomend this place to everyone I meet, as do all of my family for as long as I remember.

• Pros: Great fresh food, Large portions, always within 15 mins driving in Salt Lake valley
• Cons: Some things take awhile to cook, order before you leave the house or expect a wait.

Best Real Greek Food!

I am a regular. Love the food. Yanni is there personally every day and he's great. I have been going to his place for over 25 years and he's still the best. He takes pride in his work, his restaurant and the quality shows in every way. The price is very reasonable, too.

• Cons: gets very busy at lunch. But they are very fast to serve you.

Good Greek Fast Food

Yanni does good gyros, rice, mushrooms, zuchinni. Never had a burger here, always something Greek. I like the gyro with both red AND white sauce. A good change from other gyros. His dipping suace for fried items needs a little help. Go on off hours as it's very busy.

The Scene
The dining room has brightly colored walls, photographs of Greece and silk flowers, adding life to what would otherwise look like an ordinary fast-food restaurant. Order at the counter and wait for your number to be called over the intercom.

The Food
The gyro is a favorite here--beef and lamb on a fresh, soft pita topped with tomato, onion and tangy yogurt-cucumber sauce. Souvlaki is another specialty: the dinner comes with fries or rice, pita, salad and a large drink. For side orders, you can't beat the dolmathes--seven stuffed grape leaves. Also don't miss the spanakopita (spinach pie). The Greek salad--lettuce, onions, kalamata olives, feta cheese, cucumbers and tomatoes--tastes good, but is swimming in dressing.

Great gyros. I've traveled the US and haven't fond better. Try the gyro or souvlaki with the red sauce,also great on fires. OPA!!!!!!!

ok food

For fast greek food this place is ok. The food was fair. The portion sizes are large and the price is good, but I have definitely had better greek food. I have had better fast greek food.
