Over Rated!

by kfonty at Citysearch

We were disappointed the Mysteries of Egypt, right away. My husband had brought some champagne and chocolate covered strawberries over earlier they forgot to put them in the room. The jetted tub was awesome, my husband got out and slipped down the stairs (before we got into the champagne). There was no door to the shower that sprayed everywhere and no door to the toilet (privacy please!) The wall's are pretty thin, we could hear our neighbors talking and stuff all night. We hardly got any sleep. We complained to the management, they offered to give us a free night's stay, but we didn't take it. Why would we stay there again?? For $200.00 we would rather stay at a "real" hotel. This place is wayyyyy overrated!

  • Pros: Jetted Tub
  • Cons: Slippery stairs, Thin walls, small bed

Nice Bed & Breakfast, although a bit pricey

by rickgalan at Citysearch

We decided to stay there for a little vacation in our own city - relaxing time without the kids. The room was pretty nice - seemed elegant and classy (although we didn't have one of the more themed rooms). Huge bathroom with jetted tub was great, and the bed was super comfortable. The staff was nice, and all-in-all we had a good stay. The only real downside is the price.

  • Pros: Nice amenities, themed rooms (wink wink), great staff
  • Cons: Expensive, kind of cheesy

the worst night

by csdemman at Citysearch

we just got home from the anniversary inn..it cost us 325.00!!! we reserved the view room!! the first impression was to look at the view.. the blinds were down and we noticed they were torn and stained. we pulled the blinds to see all the windows were failed double panes, cloudy, filthy, no view!!!!! the bathroom was a joke, the club chairs were gross. the nightstand was chipped, faded.. i would not have minded if it was 69.00 dollars, but 325.00!! for 279.00 we could have had a suite at the grand hotel, king size bed, the only 5 star hotel in Utah, etc!!! i guess it might have been great 15 years ago, the last time it was upgraded and possibly cleaned around the edges.

not worth the money

by tawna37 at Citysearch

This place is run down and I cant believe their prices. I felt like I got ripped off and the bed creaked alll night from all of the miles that has been put on it and they have probably never changed the mattress ever it sunk in towards the middle. They have some cool themes its to bad that they dont put any money in to fixing it up and repairs.

  • Pros: cool themes
  • Cons: not worth it

Great place for creative ummm...stuff (wink, wink)

by ffreakunout at Citysearch

If your looking for a change of scenery this is a good place to start. It is easy to imagine yourself somewhere fare away while in the large jetted tubs and fun rooms. We enjoy the location its close enough to be an easy overnighter when needed, and it was definately needed this time.

Remember it's a theme and enjoy

by george3238 at Citysearch

We picked the best room in the house. Imagine decending down the stairs into Neptune's Cave. Romantic music playing, the decor breath taking, a soft bed. The best continental breakfast I have ever had. The staff called to see how we were doing and promptly brought our cheesecake that they had forgotten to leave in our room. As I filled the jetted tub, the warmth of the stream really made us feel like we were swimming in a cave. The tileing gorgeous. Heck even the flushing toilets from other rooms sounded like trickeling water. We have discovered staying two days at getaways is a must. Make sure you go on the self guided tour and pick your theme for another time. I ordered the fizzing ball and it was waiting for us. We did not need to call for DVD's as we brought our own. The staff answered all my questions regarding the artist and Salt Lake City Waiter.

  • Pros: we had an outside entrance
  • Cons: hubby felt room was small

Cold, tiny, basement cave

by goutes14 at Citysearch

We stayed in the Neptune's Cave room at the South Temple location and it was just that, a cave. Apparantly they had no heat running in the basement room, and it couln't have been warmer than 55 degrees in our room, in December. We caled after 2 hours and it was still freezing and they came down to make sure we knew how to use the heater.

Besides the temperature, the room and the bed were tiny. I'm only 6'1", and my legs dangled off the end of the bed.

The fact that they didn't offer us another room when there was only one other car in the parking lot that night is inexcusable.

We will NOT go back, and I wouldn't recommend the place to anyone. For $140 a night, I would expect a heated room!

Management is keeping the Money

by lorijay at Citysearch

Because it's definitely not going back into the rooms. Our room was cute and we certainly got use out of the giant tub, but the bed sagged, the carpet was old. The food was sam's club bulk buy type cheesecake or ham and cheese croissants fixed in the microwave. The staff was nice, helpful, we got a free movie, big giant TV. I guess it's worth the $200 for newlyweds and young people and for Wow factor when you walk through the door (we had the treasure island room), but to go year after year, or anyone with an ounce of discernment, Nah, stay someplace unique like the hotel Monaco, or if you're after a big tub, the Marriott Courtyard downtown, which are both less than $200 and well-maintained.

  • Pros: Fun, Convenient location
  • Cons: Too Expensive, Worn/old amenities

great great great!

by jennifercstephens at Citysearch

We've stayed at both Anniversary Inn's. I like the one on South Temple alot better. Its smaller, more quaint, and has that B&B feel. Our first time staying there was on our wedding night, and it made that long day at the temple, luncheon, pictures, reception etc end in a great way. We stayed in the Enchanted forest room, and it was just that! Only complaint about the room, the wood plank floors, I stubbed my toe on a lifted piece of wood, and well, it bled and hurt! The salt city jail AI is very nice as well, but it seemed a little busy, and the staff was not as friendly and helpful. It was the best breakfast I have ever eaten. I wish they gave 2 ham and cheese croissants! it! I just wish it was a little cheaper, but I guess you cant put a price on romance!

  • Pros: Big rooms, romantic, great food!
  • Cons: price
