Best In The Valley!
by kjerstislc

It's an old fashioned type doughnut shop with WONDERFUL Doughnuts! They have great prices considering they're the best in the valley too! Try a basic glazed there and you'll be hooked! They have all sorts of doughnut including friters. You can also get soda and juices there as well.
They keep bankers hours so forget about going there after 5 PM.
- Pros: Light sqwishy doughnuts.
- Cons: Hours.
Good donuts-Horrible Service

They always get our order wrong. Not once has it been right. Whether we called it in or thru the drive-thru. They can't understand what you tell them. I guess they don't speak English very well. My suggestion is to hire employees that know what their doing!! The girls are nice but they act confused sometimes. Then there's a guy there that just didn't have any patience at all. He said to more less hurry up he had other customers waiting! I was offended it was a $40 or more order for them. You'd think they'd love the business I was giving them ! They need to improve big time on customer service and being polite and getting the orders right!!! It's a joke! But the donuts are wonderful if you can stand the service!!! I'll go back but not as much as I used to! I recommend it to very few people!!!

Love the bran muffins, hate the service. Good thing I found out at little the Starbucks kiosk sells bran muffins. Now I can eat my muffin and avoid that nasty shop!
- Pros: best bran muffins
- Cons: bad service
best donuts in SLC, but they are rude, rude, rude

I'm not a donut expert, but i pick up two dozen to share at work every month when I have to work a Sunday. Other than that, I don't eat them. Everytime I have been to Banbury the workers have taken around 10 minutes to get the donuts (drivethrough) and they have always been fresh. Of course I go to work at 0630, so they had better be. Be prepared, the workers seem very confused if you request something from the norm, say no nuts for a food allergy, and take longer. The workers also tend to be moderately to exteremely rude. Wonderful donuts though. I really like the apple fritter and the strawberry glaze. The donuts go twice as fast if they are from Banbury! Their coffee and orange juice is very good, too. If a dunkin' donuts or a krispy kreme were on the way to work I'd probably stop there instead. As it is, they are the only decent place in the area to get donuts. Smiths and Albertson's aren't even close. Will continue to go there until there is another quality place to pick up donuts on the way to work.
- Pros: Excellent donuts, drivethrough, good coffee and orange juice
- Cons: rude employees, expensive compared to competitors

After reading a few reviews, it seems that either people really like the place or really dont. I've always had a good experence there. there is a small wait, but for me its worth it. I bought two dozen doughnuts for a company meeting, the only let down was the one plain doughnut and thats not even a let down cause it was still yummy! Anyway another person brought doughnuts too, well the branbury cross ones we're the first to go. great doughnuts! and a little wait. Its worth it.
- Pros: low price and great taste
- Cons: parking lot chaos, little wait
Horrible Service!!

Let me first say that I do like their doughnuts when they are fresh. Unfortunately after my horrible experience there, I will not be returning. Which is too bad because I used to go there a lot.
I sat in the drive through for a whole 5 minutes with two girls passing by and never coming to tell me what was happening. I then honked my horn, and the girl inside that had been staring at me just threw up her hands and went back to staring. Finally I parked and walked in. No one came up at all, then the same girls sat in the back and wouldn't come up. Finally I yelled back to them and the two girls started laughing. Bizarre! When I called to talk to the owner she informed me they didn't speak english very well. I guess my thought on that, is maybe you should have people who can communicate with your customers!
The manager did ask how she could make it up to me, which was better than shrugging me off. Sorry but I don't have the time to hassle with this place! Don't go there when you are on a time crunch!
not that great

This place has bad customer service. I went through the drive-up window. This guy sticks his head out and asked what what I wanted. When i asked what kinds of donuts they have he said all kinds. I asked for a dozen peanut butter-chocolate filled donuts, they don't sell those. The guy would only say they sell all kinds of donuts each time I asked what they have. This is horrible customer service and it doesn't matter what the donuts taste like if the service is bad.
- Pros: don't know of any
- Cons: bad customer service
Filthy Disaster

What a disappointment! I wanted to take my daughter to a nice cozy little bakery for a birthday treat and after reading the reviews on this site I chose Banbury Cross. Big mistake. When we walked in the first thing I noticed was that the doors, floors and countertops were cruddy. The cases were all empty. There were some doughnuts left on the wall (this was about 2:00 pm). Trying to be cheerful and ignoring the flies I had my daughter and her friends pick out some doughnuts, and when we sat down it was just FILTHY. There were little insects crawling on the walls. There was absolutely NO ATMOSPHERE at all. How anybody could call this a cottage or rate it as romantic is beyond me. It was like a dirty burger joint. We ate and left and I hoped my daughter was too young to be mortified. The doughnuts tasted good, so if your only in it for the food this place might be okay, but I suggest you don't go inside.
- Pros: Doughnuts were soft
- Cons: Filthy
BEST BAKERY! Best Service! Oh, gosh, I need another Doughnut from Banbury Cross!

This place is the BEST in EVERY WAY! Great selection of doughnuts and pastries! Excellent employees! Even a drive-thru! Totally clean! You can taste quality ingredients in every bite! You feel like ROYALTY when you are there!
- Pros: One of the BEST shops in Utah!
- Cons: There are no cons at this place!
Dont come here if you actually want doughnuts.

Im already frustrated enough that most doughnut shops in this city are not even open on the weekends, and then to find one open WITH NO DOUGHNUTS, well lets just say im pretty upset. I always hear the rave reviews for banburry cross, but due to this experiance i will be sure to never purchase from them. No doughnut is tasty enough for this kind of dissapointment.
- Pros: The building is cute.
- Cons: Everything else.
Best in State

I have been eating Banbury Cross donuts for years, and ever since my first bite, I just can't go back to eating any old chain-store donut. They are huge donuts, very moist and fluffy, with the right amount of glaze/frosting. The glaze doesn't crumble all over the place when you take a bite like other donuts do. They also have a drive-thru for those of us who want to grab a dozen on the way to work. Overall, they are definitely the best donuts in town, and that's probably why they have been named to City Weekly's Best in State for several years running.
- Pros: Drive thru, inexpensive
- Cons: They don't have just plain sugar donuts :(
