Inexpensive, Large Portions, Delicious
by notoriousnicholas
I have been going to the Old Spaghetti Factory since I was little. It has always been a family favorite for birthdays, and celebrations. Meals come with delicious bread and garlic butter, salad and spumoni ice cream for desert. Try the mizithra, and the Italian sodas (you get to keep the glass).
- Pros: Large Portions, atmosphere, family friendly
- Cons: Long waits for seats, occasionaly
Kitschy Italian restaurant churns out heaping plates of pasta that won't break the bank.

In Short
Whimsical antiques and decorative items--velvet armchairs, vintage-looking fringed lamps and booths made from iron bedsteads--fill the dining room. The OSF Classics menu offers spaghetti with a choice of mushroom sauce, rich meat sauce, browned butter and feta-like mizithra cheese sauce, and more. Other popular favorites are the baked lasagna--layers of noodles, tomato sauce and four kinds of cheese--and the fettuccine Alfredo. Meals include a green salad, fresh-baked bread and ice cream.
Very lousy

Honestly, this is one of the worst places I've been to in Salt Lake City. I ordered the lasagna and my girlfriend ordered the spaghetti, they were both horrible.
- Pros: nice atmosphere
- Cons: food was awful.
Good for kids and that's about it.

Everything at this Italian "restaurant" is sub-par, right down to the marinara that comes from the can. Yuck. I actually wouldn't even take my kids there as I can throw together a marinara in about 10 minutes that is healthier and superior in all ways. Thumbs-down for sure!
- Cons: Disgusting food...need I say more?
Great atmosphere, go as soon as they open to avoid long lines

Fun atmosphere for the entire family - located in shopping mall so you can enjoy the entire evening.
Our Family Favorite

This is the place to go when you just want a meal of spaghetti at a reasonable price. With the meal you get bread, salad, entree, beverage (not sodas), and dessert for about $8. Even the kids meals include salad/applesauce, entree, beverage, and dessert for $4. Be prepared for a wait, especially on weekends or nights, and a lot of kids though. I've never had bad food - hot foods hot, cold foods cold or bad service - we go there so often they know us.
- Pros: Kid friendly, Reasonable price, Great Atmosphere
- Cons: Busy, long waits, Limited menu, Noisy
Great for families!!

No, the food in not high cusine, but it is acceptable for a chain. The ambience is nice and it's somewhat loud and boisterous so the kids fit right in. You can get bread, soup or salad, an entree and ice cream for under $10, That's hard to beat!
Horrible in every way

This is the worst restaurant I have been to in SLC. The food was horrible. Making Spaghetti-Os would have been 10 times better and about 1/20th the cost! The food was gross. The service was terrible. When we finally got to food, the sauce had like a dried layer on it from probably sitting in the back for so long without being served. The food was cold. Way way way too expensive for what you get, although you couldn't pay me to eat at this restaurant.
- Pros: none
- Cons: Food, Service, Cost
Delicious

The Old Spaghetti Factory is a great place to eat! Night is the best time to go - as it adds a traditional Italian feel to the restaurant.
The sourdough bread tops off the minestrone soup - and adds a zesty taste to the delicious spaghetti with rich meat sauce.
Try out the Old Spaghetti Factory - you'll enjoy it!
- It's well-worth the drive!
- Pros: Great Atmosphere, Sourdough Bread, Delicious Sauces
Old Spaghetti DUD

I can't beleive that the Old Spaghetti Factory was rated so high. It has to be the worst (and I mean worst) Italian Chain in Salt Lake. Their food is far from top quaility and the price isn't even that good. It is just a little cheaper than the Olive Garden and at least there you have better food. Their service lacks everything. If someone wants a good Italian place check out Roberts Restaurant and Deli off of Wright Brothers Drive in the International Center. They don't have food that is precooked and frozen to be thrown into the deep fryer when it is ordered. They make everything fresh daily. The pasta and Fettuchini are to order! This place is great.
- Cons: Bad service, Bad food, Bad Atmosphere
