Worst hotel in twenty years!!!. My stay at this hotel was a nightmare. There was no hot water in my room which was discovered at 5:30 am prior to my flight to Dallas. The staff opened another room and there was no hot water in that room either! The room was small (cramped) and less than clean. Every location in the hotel including the lobby smelled musty, dusty, stale and unpleasant. I was charged an extra $15 at check-out for "historic preservation"? This amount was not disclosed at check-in and should be included in the room price, in my opinion. The television did not work upon arrival. A repairman was able to fix it in a couple of hours. When it was operational, I was dismayed with the poor picture quality (one of those old, large-tube TVs), abysmal channel selection, and no movie channel options. The staff was inattentive, unprofessional, disorganized, and very unkempt in appearance. When the conditions of the hotel were discussed with the manager by phone, he was argumentative and surly. The Peery Hotel is not, by any stretch of the imagination, a four-star hotel. And, there is nothing romantic or charming about it. Avoid this hotel at all costs unless you like a tired, dirty, decaying, smelly, old hotel with an ice-cold shower to greet you in the morning.

Becareful - Read the reviews!. This comment is written by a staff member of the hotel. You can contact Lexi Casalino at the front desk.. She is the front desk manager. I use to work at the front desk and night audit. The staff is not friendly and not willing to do anything for the guest.

Beautiful, historic property03/27/2007 Posted by lexiraunch

Our company uses the Peery Hotel every week for our employees and they love it! Every new employee we send to the Peery Hotel comes back with nothing but great things to say. The staff is amazing and are willing to go out of their way to get anything for my employees. The rooms are comfortable and the entire staff makes you feel at home. My company has been sending our employees to the Peery Hotel for years and we will never change

Peery is a dump. I send several of my employees to Salt Lake City every week for business trips. Everyone who stays at the Peery says it is a DUMP! It's noisy, dirty and outdated.

This downtown boutique-style hotel radiates classic elegance.. The Scene
This restored Victorian hotel is located in downtown Salt Lake City, close to plenty of restaurants and bars. Don't feel like leaving the hotel? Grab a bite at Christopher's Seafood & Steak House or opt for a more casual meal at Romano's Macaroni Grill. Those in town for business appreciate the hotel's proximity to the Delta Center and Salt Palace Convention Center; both are just a few blocks away.

The Details
There are 63 rooms and suites (three with Jacuzzi tubs) individually decorated in period furnishings. Canopy beds add a touch of romance, while data ports, coffeemakers and room service offer modern-day luxuries. Amenities include free wireless Internet access, voice mail, hair dryers, morning newspaper, cable television and safe-deposit box. There's also an exercise room, meeting facilities and gift shop.
