The management (Brad West) doesn't give give a s*&% about their job. If you want to watch march madness this season don't go to Iggy's downtown. I can't believe there's no option on this rating to give no stars. First we had to close our tab and get up and move because during March Madness they turned off the game and had to show the Jazz game on every TV in the room. Don't get me wrong I love the Jazz, but IT'S MARCH MADNESS!! Then after we'd ordered from some other server at our new table they turned ALL the TV's to the Jazz again. Asking the manager was worthless. He basically insulted everyone at our table and told us we could move AGAIN or leave. We left and we're never coming back. My suggestion is go to the Skybox at the Gateway, Lumpy' s or Fiddler's Elbow. Watching the game in the TV section of RC Willy would be better.

Pros: none

Cons: Brad West

Upon entering the restaurant, my boyfriend and I were met with a blank stare from the hostess followed by a curt "How many?" She sat us at a table, threw the menus down and left. Not once were we approached by a waiter or busser and offered a drink. As we waited for someone to come take our orders, the tables to our sides and behind either one of us were offered at least minimal service, and finally after fifteen minutes of not ever being approached by a single employee, we left, having not been acknowledged by anyone. After leaving, I called the restaurant personally and asked to speak to the General Manager about our experience, when the hostess told me that he doesn't take phone calls during the lunch rush, and hung up. Being a GM (granted, of a retail store) myself, I consider myself to be extremely concerned with my customer's needs, and would never dream of declining to speak to a customer with an issue or concern regarding my business. I called back several minutes later and demanded to speak to the GM, lunch rush or not. She kept me on hold for 5 more minutes, until I just gave up and hung up the phone. I can't think of ever having received such a disgusting lack of service in my years of eating out. I will never return to this location again. I've gone to the location on 10600 South many times, and have always received superior service from an extremely friendly staff, but upon reading some other reviews, it seems that this location is in dire need of a change of management.

Cons: Service, management, attentiveness to customers

I have eaten here two times with a friend, and both times we waited between 10 to 15 minutes to get things like drink refills, our check, etc... Half the time we had to actually flag down our waiter/waitress. To top things off, on our last visit there was a small insect inside the "to-go" box I requested for my leftover pizza. Yes, it was still alive. Our server did not ever apologize, he just said "ok", grabbed the box from me, and brought me another one. (Wouldn't be suprised if it was the same box the insect was in.) STAY AWAY!!! Note: It will not let me type the name of the insect when I post this review, so I will try to spell it out for you: C - O - C - K - A - R - O - A -C - H

Cons: slow service, insects

I went here to Iggys recently (400 West is the new location) for a radio station mixer. I sat down, looked over the menu (by the way, you have to order food with a drink), although I wasn't hungry, someone with the radio station said to grab some of the hour’douvres, I did and the three waiters/waitresses that were working the area all ignored me and didn't bother to ask if I wanted a drink, since I wasn't ordering food from them. I went to the bar to try to speed up the process, was told you had to ORDER food. Now, I know the liquor laws in Utah or wacky, but I think if you are at a private party and you have the food being provided, doesn't that allow one to have a drink? Or is Iggy's trying to capitalize on the laws by trying to sell their inferior food. The bartender that evening was rude, as was the hostess, who said that is the way it is and it's like that everywhere in Utah. I complained to the manager before leaving the function roughly 20 minutes after I arrived, he was not much better, still, I sat there without even a water, while other people were sitting down and getting served, why because they wanted food from the menu with their drink. If you go there, don't eat before hand since you will be forced to eat their inferior food, don't expect great service. A sports bar, I think NOT!!

The food was good however the waiter named Joe was absolutly horrible. I had to wait several minuttes for the waiter to show up to the table to even take an order then after getting the dirnks ordered we had to wait another 15 minutes before the waiter ever showed up again with the drinks. The grill was fairly empty and the waiter seemed like he was to busy talking to the hostess at the entrance instead of paying any attention to what he was doing. After he finally came around I asked for the check because it was getting late he came back and left the icket at the table. I went back to the table to pay the bill and had to sit around and wait for him to show up. After a couple of minutes with my wifes coat in my hand I went and found the waiter to pay the bill. I did not leave much of a tip because of the lack of professionalism and his wanting to talk to his girl friend up front in the lobby. He then came out and screamed obsenitys at me as I was leaving it was his one fault for not paying attention to what was going on.

Pros: food was good for a sports grill

Cons: absoulutly the worst service I have ever received.

My boyfriend, his room mates, and I went into this Iggys to watch a football game last Sunday. We ordered a couple drinks while we watched the game. Well the manager is Morman (the server informed us of this, because she also thought he was being rude) and doesnt approve of drinking. Well he stood at the bar and just watched us. We felt REALLY uncomfortable. Some people believe in things that others do not. That does not give him the right to look down at us and watch our table like we were out of control. As a manager he should be professional. That he is far from. I will NEVER return to this Iggys again!!!

Pros: The server's service

Cons: Manager

Upon entering the restuarant the hostess glared, did not speak one word to us, she had the look that says, "What do you want" I finally spoke up, "Table for two please" At which point she fumbled for some menus and sat us at a table. Then comes our server, No, "Hey how are you two tonight" He meant business, "What do you want to drink" although he was very prompt in bringing out the drinks. No mention of appitizers. My friend ordered the Prime Rib Sandwich, then he turned to me, he did not ask if she wanted a side of soup or salad, not a huge deal, but she did ask what the soup of the day was... I ordered the Texas Rib Eye (Which nearly cost me a leg..$17) He then sighs, rolls his eyes and breaks out the notepad, as if MY order was a pain in the butt or something Meanwhile a disgruntled bussboy is cleaning tables, he kicks the chairs, throws the plates into the container, and if the lound noises were not enough, he goes to wipe the tables and blatantly wipes everything that was on the tables onto the floor. No bother to clean the floor either. In an attempt to rearrange the tables he again kicks the chairs to where he wants them to be, luckily after we got our food he dissapeared. Food does not take too long to arrive and it is warm when it does. Mashed potatoes are good, lots of hearbs and garlic and a too big portion, veggies are cooked well, steak is actually cooked how I asked for it to be, however when I pay $17 for a steak it better melt in my mouth, like the steak at Outback Steakhouse. It was quite flavorless and a bit tough, quite a lot of fat on the edges and a row of fat in the middle... My friends Prime Rib Sandwich was terrible, she said it was tough and flavorless, leaving much to be desired. Upon leaving there was no, "Thanks for coming in" "Come back soon" I will NEVER set foot in this establishment again!

Pros: Food came warm, Wine was decent

Cons: Bad service, Overpriced

We come here quite often. The Bluesberry Hefeweisen is definetly worth trying but make sure it's fresh. Sometimes we get one that's from the bottom of the keg and it isn't as good as it could be. The food is always good. Generous portions, good quality. On a few occasions we must have come when there was a new cook and the food didn't come out right but that's only happened a few times out of many times we have been here. I always recommend this place to people who haven't been yet.

What to Drink

Try the micro-brew Hefeweizen with natural blueberries. Although tasty, it's definitely for the beer drinker with a sweet tooth.
