Great Service
by hcalger
The Market Street Oyster Bar has the best service in town. If you looking for a restaurant where you can relax, have a few drinks and get your food fast and fresh this is the place to go. I swear there's no such thing as a bad day to the servers here. They always greet you with a smile and continue to make the entire experience here delightful, especially Aaron, who serves during the day. I recomend anyone to go here any time of day. The food may not be the best, but the service and drinks make up for the food.
- Pros: Service, Drinks, Aaron
- Cons: Price, Parking, Crowd
Never again!

Coming from the Atlantic Coast where good seafood is plentiful and great, I would rate this as a sad place for seafood. Everything is overpriced for the quality of ingredients and cooking that you are getting in return. I was very surprised that this place has received high reviews and was as crowded as it was the night we visited. The seafood was skimpy and not expertly cooked, the prices are too high, and the service too slow- although not inattentive. Expect to stay a good 3 hours for a full course dinner. The only good thing about this restaurant is the atmosphere and selection of beers and wines. I'm glad we only paid for a temporary membership because we won't be returning.
- Pros: fun
- Cons: slow, overpriced, bad seafood
Hmm.. Going downhill?
by ferrari99
First off i am a gastronomy member and frequent the oyster bar at least once or twice a month with friends or my wife. Usually we stick with King Crab, Chowder, Oysters and Champagne. That is all good, bill can get high with the booze bill- to be expeccted. What sucks about this place IMO is if you venture off of that path and go for their fish or standard appetizers you end up with food that is better suited for a mass market place like Red Lobster. $23-$26 a pop, small portions masked by steamed veggies and boring rice. Bottom line they need to innovate and revamp the menu (same for the last 5 years) and maybe get a new chef otherwise you are getting screwed.
- Pros: , oysters, king crab
- Cons: sometimes packed, expensive, menu outdated
See and be seen while dining on delicious seafood in a colorful and lively atmosphere.

The Scene
High ceilings, large mirrors, polished wood and brightly painted murals provide a sophisticated look. Sit at the bar or in one of the elevated tables. A full liquor license and savvy bartenders make this a favorite meeting spot for drinks and hors d'oeuvres.
The Food
The focus here is seafood, although the filet is popular as well. Daily seafood specials are based on what's flown in fresh. Shrimp, lobster, crab, mussel, oyster and clam dishes are always on the menu. Favorites include the cioppino (a spicy tomato broth with a variety of fish and shellfish) and the mussel stew, with a thick, creamy base and tomatoes, potatoes and onions. There are also burgers and sandwiches--try the crab and avocado. A variety of salads includes everything from blackened chicken on spinach to the tasty seafood cobb salad.
Fish?

Market Street is a nice place for a seafood lunch and cocktail but social club? Hardly. Lots of business types discussing business.
- Pros: Convient
- Cons: Crowded, Bad Parking, Pricey
EVERY YEAR IT JUST GETS WORSE
by ballplayer420
The food seem s to get worse and costs more every time I go here If it werent for others treating this place would be somewhere I would never go.I used to love this place but every year and i've been going there for 15 years it seems to get more expensive and the food gets worse and smaller portions.Drinking alcohol here will definately leave you broke 5.50 for a shot of Jager come on get real! Its Baci's with a different menu. WEAK
Oyster Mondays!
by stylesmom
.49 Oyster Mondays are the bomb! The "Hawks Point" are wonderfully tasty and so large you cannot eat one whole. The fresh cocktail sauce, horseradish, and vinegar are the perfect compliments. The oysters, the sourdough, the thick, rich, hearty, hot, homemade chowder is better than anywhere else, I guarantee it!
Dont miss the Sunday brunch either. fresh hot orange rolls, eggs bene' and bloody mary's!!!
- Pros: Brunch!!, Specials, atmosphere
- Cons: parking $
