Great food; bad smell

by dontcindyme

I went for an early dinner on April 3rd, 2009. There was a horrible smell of backed up sewage. I hadn't been there in about a year, but seem to remember it smelling that way then, also.

I stayed anyway, and finally got used to the smell, until it disappeared (as I'm sure it finally does for the wait staff). The food was very good. I got an April special for $10. I got 2 Fried Green tomatoes (excellent) and Chicken Fried Steak with vegetables and mashed potatoes. All components were very good, including the hot bread. The dessert, however, was not very good. It was Carrot Cake. Just didn't taste good and was ice cold from the the fridge. All was included for $10 so can't complain too much.....except for the bathroom smell....

  • Pros: Great atmosphere; cool setting, good food
  • Cons: The smell of backed up sewage

Cutest Place Ever

by julielynnb

I was asked to take some family photos here a few days ago, and this was my first time coming to Gardner Village. It is the cutest place I have ever seen. It has the cutest old homes turned into vintage shops. The best part that I seen while there was their huge Water-Wheel.. it is so beautiful and awesome.

I would strongly suggest coming for a visit, you surely won't regret it. I'm planning on visiting again and again.

What shopping malls would have been like 100 years ago.

by Contributor

In Short
Nestled in a quaint rural area of Salt Lake City, this shopping mall is comprised of a series of small shops located along the banks of a meandering stream. Businesses, including the Village Quilt Shop, Country Furniture and Village Whites Shoppe, are housed in historic buildings that have been moved to the site. It also includes The Naborhood Bakery and Protea Cottage, Archibald's Restaurant and Sweet Afton's, as well as The Gathering Place -- an 8,000-square-foot space available for meetings, banquets, receptions and parties.

A cute, historic village

by doctor_stu

which has been turned into a collection of unique shops. Unfortunately, it seems most of them are barely hanging on. My wife and I were the only two people in the whole center.
