I find the Blind Dog ambiance something normally found in a large city. The food Chef Penny Kinsey provides is always excellent. Presentation is an art. At times the service is not always what you want, but if you are looking for a relaxed evening, this is the place. I have always found the staff more than accommodating. The bar area is delightful and the sushi bar is a WOW! Great wine list and cocktails. I regularly find it at the top of my dining decision list.
Elegance with Personality

I spend my life on travel and it is always a pleasure to return to the BDG where the food is delightful and more importantly the hospitality is warm. From seafood to steaks in the main dining room, to fantastic sushi in the sushi bar, the menu is exciting. I sometimes make a meal in itself from just the appetizers while trying the ever changing soup du jour. An exceptional wine list, full service bar, and a great selection for the beer snobs (me). The families long experience in the business is evident in their friendliness and attention to every detail, especially a devotion to cleanliness. Look for me having returned from another long tiresome journey gathered with old friends, making new acquaintances, or having a quiet dinner with my wife as we continue to enjoy the BDG.
- Pros: Convenient parking, easy access, Warm love of animals
- Cons: reservation recom
A Bit Inconsistent
by meechewhite
Having been there several times, I must say that the service has been less than good. One time I sat there for 30 minutes and finally left after not even getting a glass of water. Other times the service has been good to less than average. The food is generally quite good, but I think it is over-priced. Parking can be a challenge during the busy season.
- Pros: Good food, Great bar
- Cons: Poor service, Expensive

An amazing dining experience

The Blind Dog is a restaurant of international quality with a warm and friendly ambiance. The food is nothing short of remarkable. They have a renown wine list, the most delicious cocktails that is complimented with warm, friendly service. My favorites are the shrimp/lobster egg rolls and their infamous crab cakes. Chef Penelope Kinsey has created an incredible menu that can delight any palate. It's a dining experience to remember! And by the way, the sushi is the best!
- Pros: Great atmosphere, Wonderful food, Convenient parking
Disappointed!
by chickymoonie
Tried BDog during our 01/2005 ski trip but was disappointed by the food and management! We ordered their famous crabcake, lobster/shrimp eggrolls and sushi. In the eggroll I didn't taste lobster or shrimp, mostly veggies - not memorable. The crabcake appeared nicely browned but inside it was cold. Apologies given by the waitestaff and another crabcake, again dark brown on the outside but cool inside. I think they used the same oil to fry with which was causing the "cooked" appearance but underdone inside. We tried salmon and tuna nigiri and Jollyrancher roll nothing spectacular. We were disappointed that the manager didn't come over to offer us anything for the crabcake like a comped dessert, drinks or anything. The waitstaff was good but if you want repeat business then the manager apologizes and offers a comp. Especially since this was their "famous" crabcake.
I don't recommend Blind Dog Grill.
- Pros: ambience
- Cons: mediocre food, inattentive mgmt
Going Downhill

Used to be a great place. Lunch the other day was terrible. Way overcooked a Kobe beef hamburger and seared ahi salad. Waiter's excuse was "well you know it's a brown beef" (burger) and "we cook it medium" (ahi). Simple lunch for 3 took almost 2 hours. Not recommended at this time.

I eat at the Blind Dog Grill at least once a week and
find the food very consistant. The seafood is of
exceptional quality and I understand is flown in from all over the country, including Hawaii. The Sushi is some of the best in the West. If you have not eaten here yet when in Park City please give it a try. The wine list is wonderful.
- Pros: Atmosphere, good service, great parking
A relaxed atmosphere and food that is hit and miss.

The Scene
Blind Dog promotes itself as being famous for seafood dishes such as herb-crusted Alaskan halibut and fried Washington-state oysters.
The Food
The grilled tuna chop, marinated and served with wasabi vinaigrette on top of mashed potatoes and haystack onions, was the highlight of the evening. The vinaigrette made a terrifically tart sauce to the rich tuna, and the onions evoked memories of seaside onion-ring stands. Less impressive were the butternut squash ravioli simmered in extra virgin olive oil, sage, tomato concasse, and grated Asiago. They were nice, but the serving was small, and had no "ooomph." Desserts are a highlight. The vanilla ice cream with fresh wild berries marinated in vanilla was everything you'd hope it would be. The chocolate brownie was a perfect balance of sweet and bitter, and not overly done in either size or richness.
