Average Food, Average Service, Average Ambiance

by austinlauren123

This was our first dining experience in Park City, so I can't compare to other PC restaurants. THE FOOD: The beer battered mushrooms were excellent, served piping hot with Ranch; The burger had a great flavor, but I ordered Medium and it came out Well Done. They skimped on the sauted onions and I had to ask for ketchup, mustard, and mayo after the burger came out without condiments. The fries were nothing to write home about...a little overdone and definitely institutional. THE AMBIANCE: The main street location was nice and we had a nice view out onto the street; the tables are pretty close together so we had to listen to to three very loud men who were seated about 2 feet away from us for the entire meal; they do have fireplaces roaring when its cold outside. THE SERVICE: The service was average. The waiter wasn't overly friendly but our food was delivered quickly and he did come back to check on our satisfaction with the meal.

Overall: This is a good place to go if you want a casual burger or sandwich but don't come here for romance or special night out.

  • Pros: On Main Street, Inexpensive, Nice variety on menu
  • Cons: Tables close together (noisy)

The hangover-cure spot in Park City since 1972.

by Contributor

The Scene
Two brick rooms feature sandstone-colored stucco walls, tile floors, fireplaces and photographs of southern Utah. Though it's open for lunch and dinner, it's breakfast that this classic spot is known for. Recovering partiers come to hangover central for stick-to-your-ribs breakfasts that are served until late afternoon.

The Food
In addition to breakfast, burgers, club sandwiches, fish and chips, grilled cheese and salads are offered for lunch. For dinner, there are barbecue specialties, salads, steak, trout, halibut and pastas. There's also a great kids' menu available. If you're looking for a real gut-buster, try the Hungry Miner with seasoned potatoes, melted cheddar cheese topped with basted eggs and onion, ham, green pepper and mushrooms. Other rib stickers include huevos rancheros; corned beef hash and eggs; or biscuits and gravy. The delicious Park City omelette is stuffed with avocado, mushroom, tomato, onion and melted jack cheese and sprouts.

Good Comfort Food

by mrstoomer

Menu is all-American Diner fare from the Reuben to the club. Service was good and waitstaff knowledgeable of foodproduct and wine list. Nice casual dining - The ambiance was warm and comfortable on a cold Park City night.

  • Pros: Casual, Fair priced

Fast food with table service

by miroskal

Simple American food for undiscriminate taste to stuff yourself if you need calories. Lots of fried stuff. Cafeteria like atmosphere with unprofessional but nice service.

  • Pros: totally relaxed
  • Cons: bland food, no sourdoughbread, no expresso coffe

A Survivor

by jimkenny

The Eating Establishment is a survivor. As restaurants come and go and change in Park City, it remains and does well. It is more casual and more moderately priced. It is not a fine dining experience, but it does what it does well.

Definately Recommend

by foodfan02

I just went to the EE again and it was an awesome experience. The staff was friendly and accomodated all of my families special requests. The server made special effort to ensure the food was prepared the way we requested. Besides the service and food the restaurant was warm and cozy but the best part was the price. It was affordable for Park City and I felt we got a good value for what we paid.

  • Pros: price, food, service
  • Cons: no parking lot

Just ok

by xj3m3

Both my wife and I went to the Eating Establishment based on a friend's recommendation. We found that the service was poor and the food was disappointing for the price. Although the ambiance was nice, I would suggest trying another location.

  • Pros: Ambiance
  • Cons: Price, Food, Service

Clueless Manager

by acajt5

I took a business party of 9 here to eat on 09/24/02 and the food and the service was poor. I go out to eat about 4 times a month in Park City and this was the first and last time I will go to The Eating Establishment. I called the manager the following day to share my feelings/concerns and he said thanks for the feedback, he would look into it and that was it. He never ask for my name or number to get back to me or offer to correct the problem. Based on my interaction with the manager I understand the poor service. I recommend if you are reading this that you spend your money at the other good places to eat in Park City.

  • Pros:  Park City
  • Cons: Poor Service, Quality of Food

Good, not great.

by Foodbear

I would have passed by the Eating Establisment had I not read previous reviews. The food was good, not great. Other than friendly service, nothing set this resaurant apart from most average resaurants. The homemade bread was delightful, once can only choose from two salad dressings, and the entrees were simply good. Try it, you might like it.

A Classic

by remmal

Let me just say that I use to live in Park City 20 years ago....the Eating Establishment was there then...and it will be there for another 20 years and probably longer.
