The service did not match the $40+ entrees. We were completely unaware that the menu was "fixed" and pre-set. The website did not show that information, the reservationists did not mention it, and the confirmation email did not have that info. I called the manager to see if there's anything that he can do to change this, and he said "No." If you're managing a restaurant, the worst thing you can say to a guest is "No." There's always a solution if you're not lazy.
Pros: Ambience
Cons: Service, Value

I recently returned to Grappa after being a non-believer for the last couple of years. I had an experience not unlike some of the other reviewer's and just stayed away. Some friends of mine last winter wanted to dine there and I agreed against my better judgement. Well the experience was a complete 180 degrees from the last one! The food was terrific, the staff friendly and effeicient and the manager even stopped by our table several times to make sure everything was right. I recently dined there on the patio and let me tell you I have not had a better ambiance or experience in my 20+ years of dining out. The server told us the chef was new and the food was proof that a young, excited chef is behind the wheel now. The osso bucco fell off the bone and was so full of flavor! The salads are huge and the portions on all the entrees are equally large and full of value. The scallops dish was equally delightful. The kids choices are limited but our server, on the last visit, made several suggestions that fit right on with our children even though they were not on the menu. Again, the staff, excellent! A tip: In the summer the local newspapers carry coupons for Grappa (and the other stores in thier group) offering great discounts!
Pros: Ambience, value, service, food
Cons: expensive, no kids menu, parking

My husband and I dined here last night and are still appaled at the menu. First of all - entrees are priced from $38 - $48 PER PLATE. Are you kidding me??! This restaurant would be laughed out of New York City where we're from. We don't mind paying a lot for good food, but this is HORRIBLE. The menu options are limitted and fit for fattening up farm animals. Chicken wrapped in proscciuto sauteed in creme fraiche is one of the healthiest options on the menu. Additionally - the $16 ceaser salad was too small to be considering a child's portion. My husband actually had them take the salad back - we refuse to be taken advantage of, and this is exactly what Grappa does - they prey on "tourists" to Deer Valley who they assume to be millionaires and don't care being ripped off. The bread (which they call "foccacia" - still laughing at that one) was cold, and the wine is THIRTEEN DOLLARS A GLASS. SAVE YOUR MONEY - ORDER IN ROOM SERVICE! What a joke!
Pros: The tables were sturdy.
Cons: Overpriced, horrible selection of food, terrible service.

This place is so overrated. It is really a pretty restaurant, but the service is notoriously slow and the menu greatly overpriced. The only time it's worth it is when they do a 2 for 1 coupon and even then it's high! I think they find it charming to make you wait for everything! Crazy!
Cons: It takes so long to eat here, it's hard to justify.

Don't bother! I know we went during Sundance and it was crowded, but for the price we paid, the service was inexcusable. We waited over an hour for our table and when they finally called us from the waiting location across the street, we waited another 20 minutes. The waitress delivered a wine bottle with a price tag on it, then tried to cover it up. Our first course was cleared before one of us was finished, and the second course delivered while she frantically tried to finish. Then we waited half an hour for our entrees. Also, there was a hair in one of the entrees, and the soup portion was only a few tablespoons. All that being said, the dessert was wonderful, and the atmosphere would have been great had the service not disappointed so much.
Pros: Atmosphere
Cons: Crowded, Service, Food quality

I'll grant it was during Sundance, but in their effort to squeeze as many people in as they could, they made for the worst dining experience I've had in YEARS. Tables crammed into odd angles making it impossible for the servers to move (and for us to get up). Prepare to stand outside in the snow 'cause their waiting area is FAR too small.
Pros: Atmosphere, Wine List
Cons: Service, Food, Crowded

WARNING: if you are only in town for a few days or for Sundance, stay away from this place. Only go to Grappa if you have nothing to do for 74 hours, because that's how long it will take you to get a table. The front waiting area is so crowded it is like being at Madison Square Garden. After an hour my party gave up and we went somewhere else. I took pity on those who dared to wait it out. Park City is a very charming town with my other dining options, all of which you should consider before you waste your timing waiting hours for a table to eat food that I'm told could be cooked at a Roy Rogers. If you go there, all I can say is, you have been warned.....

Grappa is definitely the BEST restaurant in town. The food and ambiance takes dining to a whole new level. The servers are professional and knowledgeable. Hosts are personable and helpful. When in PC this definitely needs to be on your list of things to do. Along with Grappa, the Bill White Enterprises group also owns three other dining pleasures in town, Chimayo, Wahso, and The Windy Ridge Cafe.
Pros: Food, Service, Ambiance
