I had nothing but problems with Roy Voeks. I was a tenant, not a property owner. I always paid my rent on time & in person & would ask for a receipt everytime & he would always say, "oh you don't need a receipt." But after the first time, I received an eviction notice on my door for no reason. This happened two more times after, even though he said they had cleared up the confusion. I didn't appreciate basically being threatened, when I always paid my rent on time! When it came time to check out he said we would have to get the carpets cleaned, which were no dirtier than when we moved in. He wanted ME to pay HIM but I said, "no we will take care of it on our own" because I knew he would most likely just pocket the money. We were told our deposit (of $1000) would be mailed to us within 30 days. 30 days came & went & I called & he said the check was in the mail. A couple weeks later we got it & it bounced. So I called him again (which is virtually impossible because you can never get a hold of him!) Anyway, he mailed us another...which bounced again.This time I insisted on cash or I was going to call a collections agency. He kept trying to put it off, but I insisted on getting the cash immediately (I was so fed up by this point & legally he was supposed to pay me MY deposit back within 60 days & it was well over by this time.) He told me his receptionist would leave the cash with the insurance agency next door (which was weird.) So I went there & the only other person in the parking lot was this suspicious looking guy on a motorcycle. He followed me into the building & waited outside the insurance agency's door. I was really nervous. So I had a worker walk me back out to my car (which was in pure daylight). When the suspicious looking guy saw the worker escorting me out, he hopped on his bike & sped off. Who knows? Was he going to mug me? It was just a little suspicious to me, don't you think? Luckily I got MY money, unlike some other people, but it sure was a hassle!
