DatesThe awakening of a given chakra corresponds to a particular state of energy and consciousness. When we slowly and safely awaken these energies and clear the barriers that lead to a healthy flow a radical shift in health and consciousness occurs. In the average individual, the chakras function below optimal and are not harmonized with each other. In this 7 class course, we will undertake a spiritual practice that will increasingly harmonize each energy center until they vibrate in unison. Each student will step into the healer within by obtaining information, techniques, and guidance that is specific to clearing and healing each chakra and creating a life of greater joy and balance. Each public class is 3 hours in length and will include group discussion, written and physical exercises, sound and mantra techniques, and breathing and meditation practices. The weeks in between each class are for each student to engage and practice the learned techniques while discovering how empower themselves as they create a yogic lifestyle that is guided and supported by the teacher the community. Participation in the entire series is welcomed and encouraged, however, not necessary. Join us for all or part and take the seat of the healer within as it works for you!
Chakra 1, Wednesday, January 15, 2014 - The FoundationGround into your roots and create support for everything in your life to flourish. Gain solidity and create healthy boundaries, consistency, and learn how to remain anchored in calming peace especially in times of adversity. Heal issues of survival including health, money, and housing or job problems by addressing the demon of fear. Reclaim your roots, find your ground, and manifest prosperity through the wisdom and practice of specific grounding techniques that include hip openers, visualization and sound healing
Chakra 2, Wednesday, February 5, 2014 - Passion for LifeThe consistency of knowing how to ground allows us to dive into life and open to the center of sensation and feeling, emotion and pleasure, movement and change, intimacy and connection by discovering how your feelings are real and valid. Learn how to go with the flow of life by getting the energies moving through the body. Create a safe and sacred space for connecting to emotions such as pride, envy, greed, anger and delusion that can block the sweet flow of living in ease and grace. Honor your needs, embrace your shadow, and heal issues relating to body image, sexuality and connecting with others by letting go of guilt and embracing the pleasure of being you
Chakra 3, Wednesday, February 26, 2014 - The Fire of AutonomyWhat is power? Where do we get it? Why do we need it? How do we most skillfully use it? Restructure the way you think of power and learn to channel and contain that power within your own being. Leave passivity behind and exercise your right to choose that which is life affirming for you and your human family. Meet your challenges and strengthen your resolve as you increase your energy and productivity, claim your autonomy by overcoming unconscious habits that allow you to be defined by others, risk disapproval as you embrace your identity, and learn to use your will to propel you forward into the manifestation of your heart’s desire. Strengthen your core and embrace your innate power through physical practices, sound healing and journaling
Chakra 4, Wednesday, March 19, 2014 - The Lotus of the HeartDriven by the need for love, this chakra is easily diminished or wounded. Lets come together to heal the myth that we are separate from the world around us and separate from the source of love and life. Engaging the heart chakra is learning to create balance, love and healthy relationships. Open to self-love and you will address the most common imbalance in the heart chakra. The work of this chakra addresses self-acceptance, grief, compassion, intimacy, and forgiveness of self and others. Open to your heart with a skillful blend of heart opener postures, breath work, journaling and other exercises designed to bring you into a lifelong romance with yourself
Chakra 5, Wednesday, April 23, 2014 - Vibration PersonifiedVibrations, sound, communication, and creativity are the focus of this etheric energy center. Claim your right to have a voice in the world and allow your messages to come from your heart for the healing of all you communicate with. Open to your own internal resonance and more deeply resonate with those around you by strengthening the gateway between mind and body. Asana to strengthen the upper back & restore proper curvature to the neck along with written and verbal exercises will address throat and neck problems along with increasing your communication skills and actualizing your creativity by learning to trust your voice
Chakra 6, Wednesday, May 14, 2014 - ClarityIncrease your intuitive abilities and begin truly seeing the big picture of life while trusting that you have enough of the details to know what is truth and what is an illusion. Healing this chakra comes through trusting what you see. Improve your memory and your eyesight by finding balance in your perception and imagination Use your dreams for insight into your subconscious and visualizations to manifest your vision for your ideal life
Chakra 7, Wednesday, June 18, 2014 - Unity in DiversityReestablish physical and emotional connections and/or begin allowing your spiritual beliefs to be your grounding rod. Wisdom and mastery in life come from having a broad understanding of the many different ways people connect to their higher source. Cultivate your ability to perceive, analyze and assimilate information while allowing yourself and others the space to question what you believe. The 7th chakra is about honoring your spiritual discipline and allowing it to guide you to the truth of your own heart. Meditation is the primary practice for this chakra as it allows for first hand connection to the magic that lies within you and all around you
