Very nice Jewelry Shop – Went there and was very pleased. A woman named Arlene helped us get the ring we wanted without being pushy. Gave us a letter of Authenticity. And let us get a second appraisal from another company. And a man named Dino was very polite and dropped the asking price by a thousand dollars. The rings are worth alot more than what they were first asking. We were very pleased. Great place to shop...
BEST JEWELRY STORE YET Honestly – LETS BE HONEST NOT THE CHEAPEST BUT IF YOUR LOOKING FOR CHEAP DONT BUY AT A PLACE WITH CUSTOM IN THE NAME!!!
I found a wonderful engagement ring at Shane Co where I purchased my now wife's promise ring. It was amazing only thing is my wife wanted it to be different two diamonds on the side so I was recommended to Mike's by my now mother-in-law. I asked the lady there if they could add some diamonds if I didnt buy it there, she said they could make the ring custom, so I opted to do that. The ring has a 1 karat loose diamond I bought there and about 1 karat in other diamonds. My wife gets so so so many compliments on her ring its insane! So I looked at rings there and found a awesome Carbon Fiber and Titanium mens ring and people literally ask me all the time where I found this ring. I also bought my wife some pearls for our wedding day at Mikes and my wife adores them and they were for a Necklace and earrings under $300-400. They are high quality and the most brilliant diamonds I have ever seen and I went to over 10 places for diamonds and know people in the business. THE BEST PLACE FOR LONG RELATIONSHIP BUYING dont be cheap diamonds are forever. Will and DO recommend everyone I know there I am in my early 20's and multiple friends have been there and enjoy it as much as I did..
What a ripoff – On our 10th anniversery my wife had lost the center diamond in her ring and so i took into Mike and he personally found us a new diamond and installed a new crown, We later took in to have a check up and have the crown tightened. The salesman told asked us where we got the diamond because this one was chipped and was very poor quality. Mike heard him and had him go to the back of the store and told us the salesman was wrong. Wow who would you believe. We have taken it to Zales and they told us the same as the salesman.
A wonderful experience – Read the other reviews after I had already purchased my wifes 25 year anniversay rings. Even though I had been treated wonderfully, received great service, and had custom work done, I began to worry. I took rings to an independent appraiser that I paid for. Appraisal came back higher than what I had paid and the diamonds were rated exactly as I had been told by Mike.
The downtown and mall jewelers would only offer what was in their case. Mike took the time to make sure each detail has taken care of and that we got exactly what we wanted. I would definetly shop at Mikes again and would refer my friends.
Helped me get the perfect 10-year anniversary gift for my wife – Mike's staff was very friendly and helped me make my 10-year anniversary very special. My wife had wanted emerald-cut diamond earrings for some time, but I hadn't had any luck until I went into Mike's store.
The woman in the store helped me get just the type of earrings I'd been looking for and my wife loves them! As for quality and value, I got an appraisal for much more than I spent.
DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! – mike sold us an engagement ring that was apparently the price of around $15K. I have had jewelers tell me that they would not even think of buying the diamond out of it because it was such poor quality. This place IS HORRIBLE and if you are smart you will go somewhere else. It's not custom either, believe me, you should just go somewhere else. This place is a total joke and Mike makes so much money just ripping people off!!!
I have to say I am very disappointed. – The sales lady seemed very nice and helpful and didn't mind taking the time to talk about it while I looked through a book to find a ring for a garnet. I wanted a yellow gold ring and she told me the prices in the book were based on a $600 an oz price not the current $900+ and that the actual price of the ring would be more. She said however that the price of white gold would still be the price in the book and thought that the white looked better and brought out the color of a garnet better. So for budget reasons based on what she told me, I opted for the white gold against my better judgement. When I placed the order she told me she would order 10 garnets and pick the brightest one. I get a call the ring is in so I go to get it. The saleslady gets the ring saying she hadn't even known it had come in yet. She takes it out of the sealed package that came from the distributor and the gem is already set in the ring. What happened to the 10 gems and picking the best one?
Our 10th anniv comes and my wife is disappointed it is not yellow gold. To exchange guess I'll have to see how much more it costs for yellow gold. I call and speak to a different salesperson. They said that they didn't think there would be a price difference between yellow and white gold My wife having worked in a jewelry store said that there is no price difference between yellow and white gold!
I go back to the store and to exchange it. She writes up a receipt and doesn't say anything about a price difference and I didn't bring it up. She then says there is a $15 return fee but when I go to give her the money she waves me off saying nevermind.
A week later the ring is in and I go and get it. The sales lady tells me that they don't normally do this kind of exchange and that she was waiving the $30 return fee for me, and that she thinks she can sell it because it's a nice ring. Do you see why I am unhappy with this place? I am not going there again. My story is longer but no space left.
Worst Customer Service – This has to be the most overpriced, worse customer service business in Utah. Mike and his entire staff are rude and pushy. I honestly don't know how this guy stays in business and that nobody has sued him yet to put him out of business forever. He sized a ring for me, did not have it ready when he said he would and charged me triple the price of two other places I checked. And after he told me that for that kind of ring the resizing would not cause a problem for the stones, two of the stones came loose and fell off. I have never been so irritated in my life. Worse, worse, ever.
Ridiculous. – How many times can one man try and push low quality "diamonds" on one's personal budget? The answer, More than you can imagine and definitely to much for comfort. Over priced merchandise, one man to just trying to get as rich as possible before it's over. I honestly think I could go to mexico and get the same quality of jewelry that Mike pushes on you. A dent in my mood and a potential dent in my wallet. (Did not buy) I recommend steering clear of this so called business man. Unless you liked getting ripped off..
go if you want to get ripped off – not good service terrible personability tryed to convince me of what i needed very expensive found same diamond somewhere else for 5000 dollar's less! same quality.
