Tips for West Coast Lock

Quick and competent service. I was locked out of my house, it was late, and I was desperate to get in. West coast lock told me how long it would take to get there and they were just on time. The price was probably a little more than I wanted to pay, but for this time at night there are few other alternatives, and I believed it was fair based on the circumstances. The best part was that the job was very quick once they arrived, which was a relief because I needed to get in my place and get to bed. The service is quick, pretty affordable, and highly competent. thanks.

Way Too Much for Way Too Little. WEST COAST LOCK SHOULD NOT BE TRUSTED!!!

I got locked out of my car in Draper. I was at a church building and didn't have my computer, so I called 411 and got a locksmith with the closest listed location.

The price they gave me was vague. Something like $25 plus a service charge. It was around 9 o'clock on a Thursday night and he said that he'd be there in a few minutes. I live in Orem and had work the next morning, so I agreed to the price before checking a few other places.

I wait, and wait, check my phone, it was past 10:30 on a weeknight, and my keys were in the ignition with the radio and headlights on. I needed to get going. I wait for an HOUR AND A HALF for this guy to show up in a beat up minivan with piles of junk falling out when he tries to get his tools.

He walks up and hands me the bill. It had a crossed out $59 replaced with $99 hand written in. I couldn't believe the price! I told him that I was given a standard of $25 plus service fee. A $75 service fee? Really!?

"That's what I got to charge, man." Was his only explanation.

It was late, I was grumpy, and I had to drive another 40 minutes to get home. I signed it and asked for his manager's number. He got out the normal hand pump to lift the window from the door and poked around with a grungy bent clothes hanger until he hit the unlock button on my driver's side.

I called his "manager's" number as soon as I could the next morning. It turned out to be a secretary for a contact middle man service different from the number listed in 411. They have nothing to do with customer service, so I called the 411 listed number with no answer. I've left a few messages and finally came to accept that I got ripped off.

If I could give a -5 star rating I would. Don't trust this business.
