I wrote a comprehensive review else where my stars change. When looking for apartments we ran across these. At that time management was friendly and helpful. The apartments look good, but it's cheap construction. What can I tell you that you can't see for yourself? Well, the big four star to 1 star change has to do with the month to month I'm going to be hit with. If you sign a new lease it's about $100 increase this year. If you go month to month it's about $370 increase this year.

For me, that's a real sticking point. It speaks a lot about the integrity of a company that they think a 34% increase in rent form month to month is even okay. In other states that activity is illegal and I haven't researched utah's laws on this yet.

The management has been nice, issues have been dealt with, and rent is stupid expensive with a stupid increase but really you know that going in.

The big issue is that we're buying a house and either need to go month to month or move out into one of those rent by the week places. Considering that month to month charge I'm likely to do it.

So, the service has been decent, there are rules to follow and if you follow it's a non-issue. Really, you have to think if you want to move into an apartment complex that will trap you with insane month to month or $100 approx increases or force you to move because it's outside your budget. I can just imagine the poor soul with a tighter budget.

the five star commenter here is my wife and both our opinions changed with our rent renewal.

Good luck deciding, but if you can afford here, I really recommend looking at a house. I just wish mine would be built sooner.

LOVE this complex!. I am amazed to see any bad reviews, I am a current resident and I love this complex. People are really upset that rent is due on the 1st? And that they are expected to read and stick to their leases? REALLY?

The office staff is great and I have been very happy with the apartment. I have never lived anywhere with such great service or such an efficient maintenance team. I did a lot of looking before moving here and am 100% pleased with my choice. Parking is limited, but I have had no issues with my covered spot.

DO NOT LIVE THERE.. At the signing of our lease, we thought we were walking into the deal of the year. San Moritz had a military discount, the place was beautiful with granite counter tops, and the staff was almost overwhelmingly helpful. However, just as the fake tiled linoleum floors started to lift, so did the veil over our eyes. Parking during wintertime is non existent. If you want to pay the ludicrous fee for covered parking, be prepared to have other people park in your stall. Nearly every neighbor we had slipped in animal waste because nearly every neighbor we had NEVER CLEANED UP AFTER THEIR DOG. Seriously, never. This wouldn't have been so annoying, except the rent includes a grounds keeper fee, to ya know, clean up the grounds maybe? There is no recycling available. The staff had a turnover rate that rivals applebees. Every month we went to pay the rent we handed the check to a new face. This didn't make sense until the last couple months of our lease when we experienced Wasatch Property Management to the fullest degree and realized how they operate internally.

The two employees that remained there during our lease knew my husband and I personally. They had my cell phone number, we chatted frequently, and they ALWAYS greeted me by my first name. So, when we were literally a day late on our rent for the first time EVER ( because my husband was deploying and we lost track of that 24 hour period...) I was greeted with a bright red eviction notice on my door. I didn't get a friendly call, I didn't get anything. When I confronted the office manager, Ricki, about this, she said it was a warning and not really an eviction notice. I guess having the words EVICTION NOTICE in bright red letters can be misleading. She didn't waive the $50.00 constable fee, she wouldn't even look me in the eye. That experience can sum up virtually everything about this property.

If you've skimmed through this long tale, here are the important parts:

1. The price is too high for what you actually receive.

(Poor construction, poor appliances, sticky linoleum floors, granite counters on particle board, etc)

2. Hidden fees for EVERYTHING ( parking, laundry, storage, pets, rent is due on the 1st. Not the 1st through the 5th, etc)

3. Parking is terrible and is even more terrible throughout the winter.( snow is plowed into vacant stalls)

4. The outside is filthy.( Dog waste, cigarette butts, garbage water stains, beer bottles at the plaground, etc)

5.The staff is poorly managed and few last longer than a month.

( If you do, by some crappy circumstance, have to live here, work with Laura. She is the only redeeming thing about this place. )

All of these things are tolerable, except when you pay 800-1500/ month in rent. When you pay that fee, you expect a certain standard that the San Moritz does not deliver.

Don't live there. Just don't do it.

Move Somewhere Else, Anywhere Else. Make sure you know exactly what's in your contract. We have lived here for two years and we just found out that our first year lease was for 13 months, not 12. Yes, our fault for not reviewing the contract closely. We trusted them when they told us the contract was for one year. Do not make the mistake of thinking the office staff is telling you the truth. Our mistake was not verifying that everything they told us was in the contract. When this came to light, we were told too bad - contract is void. They weren't interested in doing anything to make us happy.

Also, verify that the credit is correct. We just had the pleasure of having Rikki reduce our credit amount 11 months into our second year contract. Nobody noticed that the credit wasn't correct for the first 11 months, but that didn't stop Rikki from taking it away from us. She's an angel at signing, but watch out for her if you have an issue.

Bottom line, I should have reviewed things much more closely. I mistakenly trusted what they told me, but there are no verbal contracts, as they are keen to point out. Regardless, I tried to fight it to no avail. They're not interested in making you happy - they are interested in two things: what's in the contract, and your money. It didn't help that I called the vice president. He was adamant on the terms of the contract. I told him I understood that, but I wanted to see if he was willing to allow me to pay 24 months of rent like everybody else, not 25. No dice. The first year contract is void. Oh right, silly me.

Needless to say, I won't recommend Wasatch Property Management to another soul as long as they're around.

Not Impressed. I've never lived there, but the units are beautiful. That being said, I would still never rent an apartment from the arrogant sales staff. The way that the women treated me, you would think that I was a bum checking into the Waldorf Astoria.

I can more than afford to live in these apartments. But, they are overpriced and MAKE SURE YOU ASK ABOUT ALL FEES. Usually, it doesn't hurt to ask about discounts, but not at this regal establishment. They looked at me like I was a chicken with my head cut off and clearly had better things to do than crunch numbers and make it work. I promise you, I was not asking much.

Anyway, I've been looking for an apartment for about a month and, of all of the experiences I've had with salespeople, this place was bad enough that I'm writng the first review that I've ever written!
