Don't do it!.
As a 15 year practicing and teaching massage therapist my dear wife gifted me a certificate for a 60-minute massage at the Sanctuary Day Spa.
I made an appointment and went for my massage and I couldn’t have been more disappointed. The therapist was young and experienced and had no discernable massage skills. Her work was disjointed and most of all incomplete. Many muscles and mussel groups were ignored or glanced over in a poorly executed attempt at a massage. The real insult came when I wrote a letter to the spa manager to explain my dissatisfaction and asking that my wife be completely refunded on her $ 100 purchase, only to be offered a gift certificate from sanctuary and given explicit instructions on who to book with for my do-over massage. Not only are the therapists at Sanctuary incompetent, the management ignored my request for a refund and offered me something of no value to me, a return visit to an overpriced, poorly managed spa staffed with incompetent therapists.
It doesn’t’ mater how fancy the décor is or that your located in a mall, it just can’t offset the fact that you charge a premium rate yet fail to delivery good comprehensive services to your customers. Couple this with the worst customer service from a management team unwilling to listen and make good on a bad customer experiences and there you have it..The Sanctuary Day Spa. Save you money and book your next massage with a real therapist at a real establishment.
RIDICULOUS. I recieved a gift certificate from the Sanctuary Spa at the Gateway Mall. I work at a hotel downtown so I send them lots of business. I had 2 manicures for myself and a friend which was supposed to be $40 each. I was 10 minutes late so they gave us mini-manicures and still charged me full price when it should have been $20 each. When I was leaving the receptionist lady yelled at me to return to the desk because it was a FAKE certificate!? It was humiliating and I was very insulted. She did not even say sorry when I told her who gave it to me. I will not go back nor will I refer anyone ther. However H20 salon at the Gateway Mall is fantastic. When I asked Santuary there opinion of H20, the girl reponded "they are Asian." Horrible service and racist.
