MyutahccwAwesome Utah CCW Concealed Carry Class. Mike is a guy that knows about guns! I attended his class a while back and still think about some of the things he taught. My wife also attended with me and found the class to be very helpful. Mike had a lot of visual aids on hand and shared a lot of movies and stories to keep the class entertaining over the course of 3-4 hours. I would recommend this to anyone.
Excellent Course.
Mike did an excellent job with this course. He made everything so easy in terms of logistics. I discovered from friends who had taken a similar class from other instructors, that they were charged far more and ended up running all over town to get notaries.
Mike has an excellent ability to make firearms accessible to a beginner and showed great professionalism by keeping his personal and political views out of the class. He used the time efficiently to teach useful information rather than his opinions. Excellent job Mike!
Outstanding!!!.
Mr. Steck has great professional knowledge of his firearms and displays a rare ability to instruct courses, not only to certify, but also to make the information easy to learn and retain. His experience and insight provide amazing practical applications and ensures every student in his class leaves with more than they brought in.
If y'all want a class that is worth more than just a certification, this is it!
Thank you Mr. Steck. The United States Army appreciates your continual support.

Teaching a mandatory class is a challenging endeavor. As there are few exceptions to this requirement, classes such as these tend to draw people with a wide range of backgrounds. With this in mind, Mike Streck's engaging style and breadth of topics covered help keep this
out of the league of other mandatory classes I have had to take. Plenty of time was spent discussing when it is appropriate to use deadly force and when it is not. For me, these case studies and reading of the relevant laws was the single most important and interesting facet of the class.
As an avid shooter, it was slow going for me when reviewing the workings of revolvers and pistols. This is to be expected and is unavoidable with such a diversity of skill and interest in the class. However, the review of shooting stances and advantages/disadvatages of each was enlightening. Refreshing was Mike's honesty about methods of carry and choice of weapons. Too often, newcomers to carrying get the impression from the most outspoken supporters that carrying anything
less than a full sized handgun capable of reducing any sized assailant to bio-goo is a futile exercise. This type of macho attitude is not supported by Mike who emphasizes that carrying an LCP all the time is
better than the H&K Mark 23 carried four times a year. The in-waistband (IWB) and over-waistband (OWB) methods of carry were discussed along with belly bands and ankle carry with good insight into their pros and cons. For a newcomer to carrying or someone with
a desire to garner others insights this was well worth the time spent.
Overall, I would highly recommend this class to anyone wishing toobtain a Utah CCW permit. The price is reasonable once you consider the work that goes into preparation, supplies, travel and time (I took
the class out of Utah) and the time commitment is just right to coverall the necessary topics that are well paced.
