THIS BUSY IS ULTRA SHADY. Massage Envy is the shadiest company I've ever done business with. Their memberships are very unclear and I have heard from multiple people that they trick you with their memberships and end up charging you MUCH more than originally anticipated. Their company policies are criminal in my opinion and their massage therapists are not that great either. I was swindled out of about $200 dollars and ended up not even being able to use the massages I paid for. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.
Great place to eat up your money.
I signed a one-year contract with Massage Envy, which requires me to attend a one-hour session once a month. I decided to pay off my entire contract, so I wouldn't have to deal with the hassle of having them charge my credit card once a month. The massages given are very satisfactory and the staff is very courteous and polite. There's just a couple things that bother me and because of these reasons, I won't be a returning client once my contract is over.
Although their massages are enjoyable, they're not GREAT. I find $39 kind of expensive for a one-hour session when I could pretty much get a massage of equivalent pleasure from a massage therapy school that charges $20 less. Another issue that bothers me is that the massages are NOT one-hour, they're 50 minutes - with 10 minutes of preparation time for you to undress, redress, etc. Also, if your appointment starts late - either because you came late or the therapist isn't ready when they were supposed to be, they will still end your session at the time it was scheduled. So for example, if your appointment was scheduled at 3:00 pm, but the therapist didn't begin your session until 3:15 pm, they will still end the session at 3:50 pm, instead of compensating you for the lost time. Hence, DON'T be late.
The last thing I want to mention is that if you're a customer that has prepaid massages, don't get any "half-hour massages". Sometimes the receptionist will ask you if you want to extend your session to 1 1/2 hours or 2 1/2 hours. However, I found out that you cannot break up one-hour sessions in half. So if you are scheduled for a 1 1/2 hour session, they will count that as TWO of your one-hour prepaid sessions. Scandalous, isn't it?
Honestly, I don't mind Massage Envy. But sometimes, it's the little things that count...and I don't like it when I feel like a business is trying to find a way to take more money from me.
