WORD OF MOUTH GOES A LONG WAY LADY.
I went there today w/a buy one get one free coupon. The "Oil Spill Special" I imagine to get people in the door since its been slower w/ the oil spill in the pond. Well, the advertising worked. I came in and spent money, which I didn't have to or I could have walked out after the Manager/Owner? scolded me for bringing in a coupon & not having a second person with me. She emphasized it was not for to go and I told her I was planning on eating there then just taking the left overs with me. She went on & on about how it was to bring people in, guess I wasn't enough. There was NO small print on the coupon AT ALL about it having to be dine in, first of all and that there had to be 2 people. She made exactly what she would have if I had another person with me..so I don't see the harm in buying an entree at full price, getting one free as coupon stated and tipping 20%. This little rant of hers got the attention of the few people sitting in the dining area with me and thought it was ridiculous as well. I should have known what I was in for when I first came in & she was barking things at the waitress from the kitchen loudly about salad dressings over and over. Her voice was unplesant, loud and innapropriate for a small dining area. The waitress was nice and i empathize with her situation.
I had a bacon, avacado cheeseburger with fries and a grilled cheese with a side salad. Since she was unhappy she was serving me to begin with I think my portions were much smaller than they would be otherwise. The salad was a couple of pieces of large leaf lettuce, one or 2 pieces of cucumber maybe? Fries portion small as well. Hamburger and grilled cheese were fine, nothing bad nor good. The service was just one of the worst ever and I have been to alot of places and I pride myself on being fair and balanced and patient to a fault even when things go badly. I should have said a lot more to perhaps embaress her like she did me in front of other people, In the end she did end up doing it this one time..I emplore you all to not go there and use any coupon that might be in the city weekly, she does not derserve the business or for her advertising money to pay off really because she does not provide a pleasant and happy environment in which to dine. I have never been scolded for coming in somewhere and giving my business-ever...its so bizarre. I will be sure to tell everyone I know how my experience there was and post on my Facebook to the 250 plus people I know, most of whom are local and love dining out NOT to go there as well. Come to find out I am already finding friends that have had bad experiences there too and have also heard negative things about the management. Hopefully the owners can fix this before it is broken forever and develop it into a worthwile business :(
