Horrible Salon, Don't waste your money.
I'm new to the area and I was looking for a salon in Draper and I found I'm Beautiful, after reading the other review about Jennessa I was ready to make an appointment with her. When I called to make my appointment I was told she was no longer there but assured me they had talented stylist. I was excited cause I got in the same day that I called, being from NYC you have to wait at least 2 weeks to get an appointment with a stylist. Well I should've know better when I walked in there was no one there to greet me, instead I heard this noise come from the back then I herd of people came out and started acting busy. The stylist were playing with each others hair, one was in getting her chin waxed and the receptionist was talking on the phone. Now I know why I got in right away. There stylist are horrible. I asked for lots of layers and a heavy bang what I got was completly different and sloppy. My blow out wasn't better and I left with greasy looking hair. I'm glad I live down the street because I went home to take a shower.
It makes me wonder 2 things, were is this Jennessa girl that got this raving review and how does a salon like this stay in business?
P.S. The clothes they carry are cheap and over priced. The owner came in and gave me a creepy vibe. Will I go back..no way and neither should you.
Best Haircut EVER!!!!.
This might be a long review, but I was so impressed with Jennessa Herde at I’m Beautiful Salon in Downtown Salt Lake that I wanted to describe it as best as possible. I hope whoever reads this will take the time to read it all and then call I’m Beautiful for an appointment with Jennessa.
I was having a not so great day and I actually stumbled upon I’m Beautiful Salon when I was doing my grocery shopping at the Whole Foods right next door. I walked into the salon I first noticed all the fun things, t-shirts, jewelry, hats, make up J and purses. I asked the cute girl behind the counter if anyone could cut my hair and she said Jennessa was available. Jennessa came out and greeted me with a huge smile and we talked as she walked me back to her station. I sat down and we talked about my haircut. I wear my hair longer with layers and I generally pull it back into a ponytail all the time. Jennessa gave me her opinion and suggest that I cut it shorter, first to remove the damaged ends and second to make it manageable for me to style it versus pulling it back all the time. After the consultation came the shampoo. As she was washing my hair, she asked me what I use and then said that was a good product, the she proceeded to tell me what she was using on my hair, which was the Bumble and Bumble Quenching Shampoo and Conditioner. She gave me a great wash and massaged my head when she was conditioning it. That felt so good and was just what I needed. We went back to her chair and as she was using product in my hair she was telling me about it and why she was using it. I know she was selling me product, but it didn’t feel like it at all. As she was cutting my hair, I asked her about her life where she was from, went to school, work experience etc. She told me she was from Los Angeles, which explained her edgy style and platinum short hairstyle. She was so open and comfortable and I loved it. It made me feel more confident with her ability to cut my hair. When she started to style my hair she told me how to style it and what products to use and why. I’ve never had someone tell me what to use and how to use it. She even took her time and showed me how to blow-dry my hair using a round brush. She gave me a little volume on the top of my head and took some pomade on the ends to give me a little messier look. When we were done I was so happy. She reviewed the products we used and asked if I had any question about any of them or if I wanted to take some home tonight. Even though she was selling, I didn’t feel pressured which made me want to buy everything she used. Being freshly out of school and on a budget I wasn’t able to purchase anything, but I will be going back to Jennessa.
Jennessa is also a Make-up Artist and at the end of my cut she touched up my face with a little powder and lip-gloss. What Salon or stylist does that??? It’s obvious that she truly loves what she does and is a professional through and through.
If you need a haircut; you need to call and make an appointment with Jennessa, you will not be disappointed.
