Yes, they are a little expensive. But I am willing to pay more because they give excellent service and I know that the job will be done right the first time. Call the other guys for cheaper prices and poor work.
I would use your service again and highly recommedn it to any in need of the many services you provide. We have been extreamly well satisfied with the new system your group installed and the (seldom needed) follow-on service. Thanks to Gene and your orginization for great service.
I would like to thank you for being so nice and patient.. explaining everything. I think the young lad had a mustache, I can't thank him enough and want you to know I recommend you most highly. My furnace is great.
2-12-13 I also signed up just to write a review about there over pricing. My wife was quoted $714.00 to change a small ball vavle outside the house with easy access. I was willing to pay up to $120 to do the job being that i did it before 5years ago for $8.00 so i didnt miss work and lose wages that would have been about the $120.00 . They are a huge ripe off!!!!! I came home bought my $8.00 part from England Plumbing( there great!) and changed a 1/2" ball vavle in 20 minutes. They are what greed stands for!
I want to compliment dispatch for getting Steve out by 8am to change out the defective motor.
Major Rip Off - DO NOT CALL THEM!
A 79-year old lady who is a friend of ours called Neerings to fix a bathtub faucet that was leaking at her condo. It wasn't an emergency. She just couldn't get the water to turn off all the way.
She looked in the phone book and saw the BBB label and thought "they are probably honest."
She called at 7:30AM. They said they were pretty busy but would definitely be there before 3:00 PM. At 3:30 PM she called to see if they were coming. They said they had just finished a job and would be there soon. An hour later, at 4:30 they arrived. They replaced the cartridge (maybe $10 to $20 part at Home Depot). It took the repair guy less than TEN MINUTES to put the part in (and about 20 minutes to find where to shut-off the water). They were out-the-door-and-gone by 5:00 PM.
No more than 30 minutes total!
They charged her $465.00
Total time 30 minutes.
Total parts $15
Total Charge: $465
That's $900 per hour!
DO NOT CALL NEERINGS... this job should have cost between $125 than $150 max. I hate it when a business happily rips off an old lady. But judging from the reviews on this thread, they believe in equal opportunity.
DON'T BE THEIR NEXT VICTIM.
Kody identified and fixed problems the previous technician did not. I will definitely use Kody again.
Horrible experience! This is the first review I have ever taken the time to write but my experience with Neering was so bad I felt obligated to take the time to register with Citysearch and save others the brain damage. I have several rental units that I manage and so I regularly use heating and plumbing service providers. This week I had a problem with a water heater and as my regular tech was booked I decided to give Neering a try. I won't ever make that mistake again. The tech spent a total of 45 minutes on the job. 15 of those minutes were spent by the tech browsing a pricing catalog to decide what to charge. The problem turned out simply to be an issue of airflow to the pilot light and the need to clean lint out of the air supply. There were no parts required. The total charge was $355. The service manager had indicated that the $85 diagnostic fee would be applied against the repair charges but when it came time to run my card the tech refused to do so. When I called Mike the service manager back to ask about the exorbitant pricing and the unwillingness to offset the diagnostic fee he explained that "Neering has 75 years of overhead and experience and that they must charge all customers their fair-share of those costs regardless of what services were rendered or time was spent." Unbelievable. Don't waste your time or money as Neering seems practiced and ambivalent about taking every advantage of the customer.
