I went into the salon and was greeted immediately. I was able to relax and got exactly what I wanted. There are some new stylists you must see! Everyone is polite and very professional. The atmosphere is welcoming and it smells amazing. I went in for a haircut and they even gave me a facial and scalp and shoulder massage! I will definitely be returning to the salon for a long time!
This salon is amazing! They are an Aveda Lifestyles salon, and use exclusively Aveda products! High class cutting, coloring, and styling. I get my hair done there every 8 weeks, and I always ask for Jenny. I've always had a great experience here, and I love getting the complimentary makeup touch-up with every service!
I love AVEDA!!! Definitely the best product and credit color out there! The salon is clean, welcoming, and has an awesome aura about it. When I walk in I'm asked how I'm doing and if I'd like some water or delicious tea. The stylists there are phenomenal!!! I love Life Salon & Spa. <3
Haircut and Color. Horrible!. Cut six inches off when specifically asked for just a trim. Roots were light red, rest of hair dark brown, missed some gray. Asked for refund, 2 week runaround, finally got call from owner. She refused refund, accused me of lying, and called me an "expletive." Got refund via charge back amex. Very unprofessional. Beware. Did get massage and facial first, that was good. BTW- notice the positive cut reviews are from men.
Terrible. I wish I could leave less then 1 star. I have recently moved here from California and I came to the salon based on the brand Aveda. Nothing about this appointment was like the previous Aveda Salon I went to. I didnt recieve a massage before my haircut. I heard the employees gossiping and the haorcut was uneven. I will never go back
I would love to talk to you about your experience. Please give me a call. 801.652.3865

Best Hair I've had since high school!. I first went to Olivia at life salon and spa and asked her to please....please try to fix my over processed and very damaged hair. It as seriously ready to fall out. She took the challenge and two years later my hair is in better shape than it has been for years. This is a great salon and I go there even though I have moved to the other side of the valley. I will not trust anyone else with my hair. Sometimes Olivia is not available at the last minute when I am frantic because I need to look good for something, but I trust everyone who works there. I know Olivia and she hires only the best. Therefore, I trust anyone to work on me as long as it is in that salon. Frankly, I was really astonished by some of the negative comments regarding the salon. I have had nothing but positive experiences in the 2 1/2 years I have been going there. I am going to try the massage therapy they also offer. Oh, and did I mention the complimentary hand massage I get with every visit? Pure heaven! Thanks Olivia....love you all!
Things may have improved since I went to this salon about 10 months ago when they were still fairly new, but my experience was so bad I feel the need to mention it. I decided to try the salon and scheduled a highlight and cut with a "senior stylist", not wanting to risk someone without experience. First, the lighting in the salon was really low, so you couldn't actually tell how the color came out until you left. My color was just okay, definitely not as good as I have gotten other places, but also not the worst. The haircut was a different story. It was absolutely the worst haircut I have ever had in my life. My hair is quite long and I had decided to get more layers put in. The stylist cut the hair, but then started attacking the lower half of hair aggressively with thinning shears without even asking me. Once I realized what she was doing, it was too late to stop her. To make matters worse, she didn't even thin the ends evenly. She did this while talking to her "Grams" who had come into the salon, so I cannot know if it was incompetence or just a lack of paying attention, but I was left with a mullet-esque cut that was bushy on top and incredibly thin on the bottom, with random lengths mixed between the top and bottom. Her "Grams" even made a comment of "Wow, that's a lot of hair coming off".
In spite of having thick and pretty hair down my back when I went in, I came out looking like one of those people who has no business growing long hair because her hair is too thin. It was a stringy disaster. I actually cried for three days every time I washed it in the shower or saw it in a mirror, which I have never done before. I didn't even bother to call them and complain because I was well aware that the only way to fix it would be to chop my hair off. Finally, after a month or so of hating it, I happened to be back in Ohio where I'm from and went to my stylist there. She had to cut 8 inches off my hair to make it somewhat presentable. The Ohio stylist was absolutely shocked how bad the cut was, and she couldn't believe that anyone who worked in an Aveda salon, even a junior stylist, could have given so bad a cut, especially a cut as straightforward as layering long hair. My hair hadn't been that short in over 13 years, but I was forced into it by an incompetent stylist at Life. Even now, my hair is not back to the length or style I wanted when I went into Life.
As a side note, the hand massage that is included at all Aveda salons sucked there too. My stylist asked someone else to do it for her, so she could work on "Grams" and this person used no pressure. I actually found the massage annoying because the light strokes were irritating and not helpful. How hard is it to give a hand massage?
Needless to say I haven't gone back.
I apologize for your experience. My question to you is... Was your service recently or 10 months ago? We have done a lot of education within our salon and every single stylist is amazing....
Please give me a call so I can talk to you in further detail.
Love Aveda !!. I recently purchased a gift cerificate for a hair cut and color at Life Salon. I loved the location of the salon and the energy when I walked through the door was amazing. My stylist, did a fabulous job and I would recommend, Mackenzi to anyone. After my great experience I sent my boyfriend in to get his hair cut and Mackenzi did a great job. We will be for sure returning to this salon. Everything from the staff, to the products, to the educated stylist. LOVED IT!
Didn't even get a chance. Can't say anything about their services, because they wouldn't let me in. Called 8 days before my groupon expired, and the lady on the phone curtly told me I couldn't make an appointment, that I couldn't use my groupon, and that they were booked. So, I'm out 35 bucks, and they had to be rude about it on top of that. I was so stunned at her response, I just said, uh, okay, and hung up the phone, but I wish I had pushed about what I was supposed to do about the money already spent. I recognize that I should have booked it sooner, but, now I'm not sure that it would have been a good experience anyways. I have been looking for a place to get massages closer to where I live, and I desperately needed other services done, and was going to have those done at the same time, but now I will travel farther away from my house and deal with more professional people.
Awesome.. This is a great salon. I have been going here for 2 years and I have always been extremely happy with the service. I recommend it.
