You wouldn't believe how they treat their employees. Eight hours full speed with no breaks. They cheap out on food and labor.
Extremely small portions and very poor customer service.
I have previously gone to the Zupa in Draper once sometimes twice a week to get the Yucatan Chipolte Chicken salad. The add on portions are very small but I give up the guacamole and get extra portions of the vegetables. We stopped by on Tuesday night to pick up our usual salads to go. The person serving us was new and instead of the usual portion of one (very small) scoop of a topping she gave us 1/2 a scoop or less. I think they have scared the servers to give even one vegetable over the scoop so she was being very chintzy. I asked to speak to the manager wanted to get at least the one scoop they are supposed to give.
The manager, Jonathan came to the register, opened up our salads and said that looks like enough toppings to me and closed the top. He then spelled his name for me and invited me to complain to Zupa's management.
Needless to say, we left two salads, two cups of soup and walked out of the restaurant. They wasted $18 worth of food rather than be nice to us.
Soups are good but the portions are too small and too expensive.
The salads are a good deal for the $ and they give you the option to build your own salad. However, the sandwiches are practically all the same with the muenster cheese and bread, like a Wendy's frescata that someone pressed into a panini grill. Boring.
The soups are great but they're real tight about the portions and $5 is too much considering how little you get for a half soup. They must have a "one ladle of soup" rule.
Also, Zupa's website is outdated. They haven't updated the site in over a year...almost like Citysearch? ;) Note: Zupa's has a location in Cottonwood Heights now. Get on the ball and add it to Citysearch already....
Great place and glad I found it! If you like soup, salads and panani sandwiches, this is place go.
Love the Mushroom and Tai soups!!
The soups are what keep bringing me back and the nothing like a strawberry dipped in chocolate to go along with your meal for free.
