"Go F*** Yourself" says the manager. A glowing recommendation from a friend brought myself and a group of our friends (12 total) to Roma Ristorante tonight for a pre-Valentines group date. The service was pitiable from the get-go. It took between 15-20 minutes to get glasses of water, and another 35 elapsed without so much as a refill. I had to flag down the hostess to fetch a couple pitchers of water because apparently our absentee waiter was overwhelmed with the other 4-5 tables in the rest of the entire restaurant. When our server finally did get around to getting our orders, the friend to my right asked if he couldn't substitute some alfredo sauce for marinara in his dish. The absentee waiter got frustrated immediately and was informed the "chef doesn't do that" and that it "bothers him". My friend the paying customer was a little shocked and asked again if he couldn't just make the substitution and the waiter just walked away and didn't return for another 20 mins. After we had eaten the waiter refused to split our checks individually, and said that he'd only split it evenly 6 ways. They wouldn't accomodate for those our my friends who didn't pay for drinks or salads, and so they unfairly had to pay double what their meal cost because "It's too hard to split it indivdually". We asked to speak to the manager to split the check and right out of the gates she was very combative and defensive. Soon after the other owner came out of the kitchen raging angry telling us to get into the lobby because we were apparently disturbing the only other TWO customers in the place by disputing the bill. By this point we were so fed up with we told them we were just going to leave, and which point he told my friends wife to "go f***" herself. Suffice to say this was the WORST experience I've ever had at a mediocre Italian restaurant.…
BOYCOTT THIS PLACE!. this is a review about how they treat their wait staff! food is very good but do not eat there!! we do not get an hourly wage we only get tips!I used to work there and they pay under the table! They would keep all my credit card tips and never tip me out for the right amount i earned! they keep the money from all the servers credit card tips to keep the the place open. i made 300$ in credit card tips and they only gave me 150$. when i said wheres the rest my tips lj replied"well i have a restaurant to keep open" they bought a bmw for there son and i was barrowing money from my parents just to pay rent! and if any one knows the server marco, he demanded his full amount of his tips and they fired him! they still owe me money but ill never see it. aida would brag about buying only armani sunglasses and how they got a new pool installed at there house, and i was thinking i didnt even have money for gas that day!! She said her daughter only wheres 300$ jeans and i didnt get paid the 300$ tips i made that week. i said i needed all my tips from that week to fix my boyfriends car, and she asked why he couldnt just take the bus. if you do eat there only tip cash to the wait staff that way they cant keep the tips from the credit cards that were earned. i am not lying they are very dishonest and it is illegal to not tip out your servers evry night and keep the tips to pay rent!!!…
Could be a hidden jewel, but don't expect it.
Having a hankering for Italian food, the family decided on Roma. It was local, casual and reasonably priced. Walking in, we were hit with the same arches, and deco of any Italian restaurant that is
trying to look upscale, but keep the homey feel. We were not impressed. However, the ambiance can be overlooked if the food and service is good.
First the service. They were shorthanded and they let us know that. It didn't matter. While nothing was special, the service lived up to expectations of any place on a Saturday night.
Suprisingly, the food was pretty good. Since we are from the Northeast, we are pretty familiar with good Italian food. While the chicken parm came with only a hint of pasta and broccoli on the plate, the portion was large. However the dish was bland. Then again, except for us and another couple, the place looked like dinner time at the nursing home. Nuff said.
The shrimp cocktail was prepared with butter and garlic, more of a scampi than shrimp cocktail. The Frutti da mare was good for Murray, Utah. Good portion of seafood and the sauce was a bit spicy. More of a fra diavalo. The hit of the evening was the chicken alfredo. Creamy, cheesy with a good portion of chicken.
Overall, it's better than pizzeria Italian food.…
My new favorite!. Tonight was my firtst visit to Roma and I am so glad I got to try it. I purchased a discounted gift certificate on CityDeals and took my husband on a date. The strip mall location seems strange until you step inside and find a lovely, quiet place with linens on the tables and my favorite linen napkins too. There is no loud music, no screaming babies and no irritating managers trolling around asking you "how's that tastin' for you". I ordered the spagetti bolognaise and it was heavenly. Hubby had the mushroom ravioli and it was flavorful and creamy. The dinner salad was small and expensive at $3 for what I got.. My entree was generously portioned and I would have been fine without the salad. The bread and butter was a nice touch, something different than the same old tired garlic bread or bread sticks. I really enjoyed eating here. It was pricey for us, about $40 for two entrees, two salads and one coke but I will definetly save up for another plate of that spaghetti! Belisimo!!…
LOVE THIS PLACE.
We have been going here for many years and the food is excellent, they recently added some new dishes to thier menu....Delicious!!! Although my favorite is still the Lamb, or sometimes the
Scarporellio ( no way I spelled that right) it is an amazing mix of sausage and chicken in a marinara sauce, my wife loves the Pork Val D' Aosta.
His soup is unbelievable. For appetizers you have to try the Mussles Bianca only served when they can get them fresh, they melt in your mouth. For dessert if you are lucky try the limon cella cake also amazing.
You will not be disapointed with a visit to Roma's in fact if you pass it up you will be doing yourself a great disservice.…
